Up for auction is this pair of cool old PV544 Volvo's with endless possibilities on how to build them. .. .Rat Rod, Gasser, Street Rod (untraditional traditional?), rally car, drag car, custom or even restore to original, You have two cars to work with and can combine the 2 to build one or build you up 2 different projects! The white one (1966) is complete and has the motor and transmission still in it. It has been parked and not driven since the early 80's and the motor has been started regularly over the years. I hooked up some jumper cables and removed the air filters and squirted a little gas down the carbs and she fired right up for me and ran as long as I trickled gas to it. The engine is the B18D version with the dual sidedraft SU carbs. Standard transmission, RWD. All of the tires are weathered beyond hope and the braking system more than likely will have to be serviced as well as trans and rear diff fluids as would any car that has been parked this long. All window glass is unbroken and intact. The interior is in fairly good condition. The door pull handles are not seen in the pictures but are in the glove box and can be reinstalled. Someone filled the rusted rocker panel areas with spray in foam and wasn't real neat about it, once again these are both project cars that will take some work. The body is pretty crusty and rusty(patina?) in a lot of spots but that is where the parts car will come in handy as it is much more solid with minimal rusted areas. It is a 1959 model and has the rear axle/driveshaft intact but no motor or transmission. It comes with both front fenders and the grill section as seen in the pictures. The windshield is broken and one door glass is a piece of plexiglass but the remaining glass is intact and not broken. The seats are included with this one and are in fair shape, there are some other door panels and misc stuff in the trunk. Like I mentioned before this body/chassis is much more solid and free of rust except for the spare tire well and the rear portion of the trunk and a couple very small areas which can be seen in the pictures, floors are solid. Chopping the top on this car would be way cool and would be a real challenge for even the most expert bodyman to perform a top chop on. The second body will come in handy for such a mod if desired. I really hate to sell these but I have too many things going on to be able to build them anytime soon so it is time to let them go. I was going to go the rat gasser route with the green car setting it onto a straight axled speedway chassis with a small block chevy, fenderless open front end like it sits now with the Volvo front center section with 37 Chevy headlights and call it Dr. Chevolvo. The new owner can choose whatever route that lucky winning bidder wants. ..good luck and have some fun with this duo and show me your end result(s). The auction only comes with the title for the white car, the guy my brother bought these from 30 some years ago couldn't find the one for the green car and was supposed to mail it to him but it never happened, you should be able to apply for a duplicate title for the green car if needed, the vin plate is intact on both vehicles.
