Description Here's a 1949 Willys Jeep pickup truck my late father purchased from a seller in Texas approx 15 years ago. He got it running, moving and stopping, then parked it in the garage where it has been sitting since. He moved on to other project vehicles until his emphysema tightened its grip. Mom and I have decided it needs a new home.The body is in solid condition with an amateur repaint, having spent much of its life in the southwest away from road salt. The floor is solid, as is the bed floor. A prior owner made and installed an elaborate steel diamond plate rear bumper assembly for it. It has correct 16 rims, but the tires are rotted and barely holding air. Neither of the doors will latch shut. Both vent windows are cracked, but the windshield, side door windows and rear window are good. The seat appears to be recovered. There is electrical tape wrapped around the steering wheel. Odometer shows 14629, but we guess you can add 100k to that.
The engine is free, but we made no attempt to start it so as not to suck whatever is in the gas tank through the system. There is a non-original fan shroud. Brakes are spongey at best. Battery would not take a charge.Please read and understand the following:1. Winning bidder is solely responsible for picking up this truck within TWO WEEKS of the end of the auction. We cannot ship or deliver this. Please ignore USPS shipping option, as there is no Local Pickup option I could find to enter on Inkfrog.2. Paypal is the preferred method of payment. E-mail me to discuss options prior to bidding !3. We insist on visiting the local Notary Public to transfer the truck title out of Mom's name at time of pickup.
