1954 Willys M38A1

Willys M38A1 (1954)
for sale

Price: US $4,000.00

Description:

Up for auction is a 1954 Willys M38A1 Military Jeep from the United States Army. It has the original 24v electrical system and 4cyl Hurricane engine. I currently use the Jeep for parades and to promote a firearms business. It runs and drives well, but will need some work such as a master cylinder and tuning. It has recently started to idle rough, but I feel the fuel system needs to be cleaned, such as the carb. I allowed it to run out of fuel. Anyways it gets started pretty much every day and driven. It has a nice patina to it, but it's not a resto queen by any means. We recently restored a Jeep just like this and some prefer the look of this Jeep because you can get out and have some fun in it. I have a restoration shop in Cookeville, TN called New Vintage Auto. The Jeep can be seen there too. The Jeep has the axe in the rear, both retaining straps in the door ways. The wipers work, the horn works, all the lights work. I recently installed a new oil pump, pertronixs electronic ignition for 24v, and did some regasketing. The emergency brake holds well and the clutch is strong. I have put some miles on the Jeep, at least 300 miles this last year. At 45-55mph, that's a pretty good amount of time. The floors are original and completely solid. I have a gun mount that I installed, and all the original locating marks were present and clean showing how nice the floors are. The battery box does have some corrosion that was not repaired that well. The Browning 1919A4 is a true gun, but is not part of this auction. The mount will be removed as it is not part of this auction nor is any trailer. If you want to purchase the 1919, that can be discussed separately. Again, you are bidding on the 1954 Jeep without gun mount and 1919A4 and without any trailer that may be pictured. I can be contacted for any questions at 931-252-9245. Want to come see it in person, it's available every day, and we can drive it, cruise the town, have fun...it's what it for. The Jeep has a full winter top with side doors and side windows. It's in decent shape, but not perfect...but does fit nicely. Shovel under hood, it does have the jump connector on the side which is a two pin connector. jeep is in Cookeville, TN 38501 and winning bidder can pick up or I can help with transport. May be able to deliver personally for a fee, as I haul cars for customers quite frequently. Has a RMD engine which from research was a rebuilt engine that was replaced by the military. All waterproof components are in place, does have fording parts, but the exhaust pipe was removed. Did not remove snorkel as I didn't have the piece to go in the hood if I removed it. A few extra parts included. Tires do not have a lot of age to them, all were replaced about 2-3 years ago including the spare tire. I have set the reserve at a realistic amount, I do have it for sale locally and the auction may end. If any doubts or questions, call me.
