19470000 Willys

Willys (1947)
for sale

Price: US $6,955.00

Description:

This Willys is a true survivor. This jeep was made into a M38 for a movie production a few years ago, used, and then parked. I bought it a month ago to enjoy with my kids but a sudden health issue I found out about today has forced the sale. I had no intention of selling this jeep!
As you can see from the custom paint I had done last weekend, as well as all the work and parts I have ordered parts even today, that I had no intention of selling it.
I will try to explain everything I can about this Willys.
The tub is a MB. I believe it is a 1945 Willys. I can't find the serial numbers anywhere, but the previous owners must have before they boxed the front of the frame. I can't find it anywhere. I believe Ford GPW's and MB's are in the same places.
The sides have been had bondo applied, so the tool groves can only be seen from the inside.
I drained and removed the rear end cover to apply a new gasket, and discovered the jeep has a Detroit Locker rear end.
The engine is what I have been told is an F-Head engine, with an electric fuel pump, and a 1958 Holley 1904 Ford Truck carburetor.
The jeep is 12 volt. There is no glass in the windshield, but I have the gaskets. I was going to order the glass next week.
The following is what I have added to it in the last month. A new voltage regulator, new gas cap, brand new tires (July 22nd) at a cost of $600, the Kilroy War Here, Willys and tribute paint. I have also added the window mounts or hinges, wooden hood blocks, and have on order the front end shock mount plates and mounting hardware as the ones on the jeep will need to be replaced at some time in the future. I was also going to have the wheels painted green this weekend. I will probably go ahead and have that done so it has a better look.
I have coming next week the glove box data plates as well. I also have a custom roll bar that comes with the jeep.
I have driven this jeep everyday for the past month with no problem.
The battery support plate is pretty much gone, but I have secured the battery so it is safe to drive around town.
The body is was rusted and pieced together. There is rust all over on the bottom, but it still seems solid.
The rear of the body was at one time cut off and then welded back onto the jeep. I was told they did this after the war to scrap them, and then welded then back to sell them. The rear shocks are mounted to the rear frame.
The serial number of the jeep puts it at a 1945 tub. It was first sold in 1947 so it is considered a 1947 with the DMV and on the pink slip.
The jeep drives nice, and has that old jeep sound.
There is no air cleaner, as the engine belongs in a high hood Willys. The carb on there now leaks a tiny bit, but I have had no problems driving it everyday. By that I mean I feel safe with my kids in it with the tiny leak it has.
The jeep leaks a little bit of oil as expected, but nothing major at all. Two little drop the size of a dime. The engine runs right around 145 degrees, even when I drive it in 90 degree weather.
I just purchased a rebuilt Holley 1904 which will also go with the Willys.
The footlocker and the American Flag on the dash do not go with the jeep, but the two ammo boxes, which are bolted on, and the C-ration box does. They are covering the boxes in the rear that do not have door. I added a corny air raid siren to it has well.
Payment must be cash only, with a non-refundable down payment via Paypal for $500.
The Willys will be garage kept until picked up. The jeep must be picked up within 3 days of auction's end.
Sold as is, no returns.
