Description:

Unrestored 1945 WW2 Willys MB jeep with 1944 MBT Trailer, Navy and Army service I am selling my 1945 Willys MB with it’s trailer. This jeep was found in a barn (see photo) in midcoast Maine a few years ago after sitting with it’s trailer for over 40 years. It was purchased by a WW2 seabee i believe out of the crate and brought up here to be used as a summer vehicle.
I had initially wished to restore this jeep and ride it around in fresh paint, etc etc…but many folks smarter than me intervened and convinced me to keep the jeep original and not fix anything beyond what was required to make it safe and operational.
Given these parameters. I have done the following. I removed a peeling, thin coating of battleship grey (damn seabee) latex paint when I got it with a pressure washer, I had the engine rebuilt professionally, the seals in the transmission replaced, the brakes serviced with new lines, only the frayed and unsafe electrical wiring replaced with MVPA approved wiring produced by Vintage wiring of Maine. The generator rebuilt, radiator resealed…but not replaced. some bulbs replaced, master cyl rebuilt, New seat canvas (still have the old seats) new top and bows…never got the originals. The 7 tires are new as well. The jeep does have some dents on the back passenger side and minor rust in the gas tank well as well a mildly deformed windshield bow from people using it as a grab bar over the years….again unrestored. The gas tank itself was rewelded and restored/coated by moyers in PA and got new lines to the engine. The only coating the jeep has had has been water, dust, oil and linseed oil.
The jeep runs and drives well, starts wonderfully and stops as it should.
The Trailer is a 1944 MBT that has been modified to have a tailgate and other things. The bones are good and would make a good restoration candidate.
I am selling this jeep and trailer as I could not find a local museum to keep it as they are more interested in model Ts. The price is set as to discourage those who would wish to do as I would have done and restore it, as well as the even more irresponsible and modify it. It is based on what I was initially offered in the barn when I found it, plus what I have put into it to get it running and safe. There is a reserve but do not be discourged if you do not meet it as this is to also determine value. The BIN is just over what a similar MB went for without the inclusion of a trailer. This jeep deserves respect and to be appreciated by the public at large.
Please email me any questions. _gsrx_vers_616 (GS 6.9.5 (616))
