All components are rust free and the vehicle has been housed in a museum since restoration. This was a one owner truck, meticulously maintained by an Iowan until his retirement. It was then purchased and restored by an Iowa RV dealer, who was a personal friend, and who has restored a number of classic 50's vehicles to museum quality. After seeing this vehicle displayed we had a standing offer to purchase it at his named price if he ever decided to sell. After a number of years we got a call in the fall of 2014, purchased the truck and had the vehicle shipped to our home in Massachusetts. Sadly, we decided to sell the truck because I am 6'-3 tall and too big to operate it comfortably. The purchaser should be under 6 ' in height to drive the truck for substantial distances. The truck has been operated, maintained, and garaged at our home since last fall.

| “This Willys truck is a well crafted example of a blend of old and new, restored to a maximum quality finish. Body and sub-frame are original and in an excellent preserved state. All restored parts have been taken down to bare metal and repainted to a standard of high quality restoration, reflecting very good workmanship. Everything is in good working order other than two of the original dash gauges and the horn. The original oil pressure and radiator gauges not working have been replaced with new gauges consistent with the original design on either side of the steering wheel. Windshield wiper blades operate slowly and need some adjustment. The right hand window crank is not original. Original 2115 hp engine has been replaced with a small block Chevy v-8 350 hp engine. Second gear sometimes slips out. Engine and parts under the hood are clean, painted or chromed, and in immaculate condition.” |
