This is a redone 1951 M38 Jeep. Let me begin by explaining that I received this vehicle in a basket case which I don’t normally accept…but they are rare and it had all the 24 volt parts still there so home it came. I included some before pics so you know what I did to get it to the shape its in today.
Body: Removed from frame…welded new floors and support hat channels. Painted flat olive drab. New windshield seal New top Correct spare tire carrier 5 new tires New drivers seat frame, upholstery New pass seat upholstery No rear seat Frame painted
Brakes: ALL brake components are NEW…including all lines, hoses, shoes, master/wheel cylinders Transmission/Transfer case New seals installed…shifts good, FWD works New clutch disk
Engine: Torn down …. block and head shaved (pic) New gaskets New oil pump Cylinders honed, new rings, bearings for rods, cam, crank…crank polished New fuel/vacuum pump….vacuum lines correctly routed to cool distributer and windshield wipers. New Solex carburetor New high torque starter Complete new exhaust New motor mounts
Extras: All original parts I replaced are included. Starter carb fuel pump etc. 6 shop manuals so you can keep it running! (pic) 24 volt battery charger that the wires are already connected..you just plug it in.
I licensed and insured it so I can drive it on the road. It runs great but it’s still an old jeep which means you don’t want to drive it too fast and the steering has some play. They make an anti-play device you can screw into the steering box to eliminate play but I didn’t get it. The horn works but the speedo doesn’t. The emergency brake is missing. Clean Title.
