Don’t miss your opportunity to own a bus with truly one of a kind historical significance. Selling my September 1955 built Wolfsburg, Germany split window bus. This is a one of a kind logo bus with a one of a kind history in journalism. It reads “Stern Die Grosse Illustrierte” and has their star logo. “Stern” in the German language means “star”. Stern is still to this day Europe’s largest news magazine. Stern magazine was owned and started by Henri Nannen who was a nazi propagandist in 1938 and a member of the SS. Pretty bizarre history. It has an early camper conversion in it that I believe was put in for the reporters of the magazine over in Germany so they had a hotel room on wheels, the curtains even have washing instructions in German. There is a hatch that was put in the roof. I think it was a manhole for them to stand up out of the bus to take pictures and record footage when covering a story. Seems like it spent its life in Germany up until 1970. There’s and old fiberglass repair in the drivers floor and I found a 1970 German pennig stuck to the floor (thing they did back then to give it good luck). I had big plans for this bus but unfortunately have to find it a new worthy home to pursue other endeavors in life. I would like it to go to someone that will keep its history alive whether they fix the rust issues and get it driving as is or if they end up restoring it, I think it’s history being a Stern logo bus must be preserved. I found an interesting wooden “w” logo on an oval piece of wood inside the bus as seen in the pictures, not sure what it represents. The engine, engine door, original jack, rear bumper and lots of miscellaneous parts and pieces found in the bus are included. Has expected rust for a unrestored 1956 VW and some “hippie dents” on the roof. The underside is surprisingly fairly solid.
