Edsel CITATION CITATION (1958)
for sale

Price: US $6,000.00

Description:

1958 Edsel Citation 4 door hardtop
Edsels were only produced for three years. 1958 – 1959 – 1960
The Edsel “Citation” built on a Mercury chassis was produced for one year only.
The engine is a 410 cu in MEL V8 (Mercury Edsel Lincoln) 475 ft lbs of torque.
Curb weight 4, 300 – 4, 500 lbs. Length 218.9 inches.
The 1958 Edsel came in two sizes. “Big and bigger” you might say, but they are actually two distinctly different designs. The “Senior” Series cars are the Citation and Corsair Models. They were built on the large Mercury-based frame. The “Junior” Series cars are the Rangers, Pacers and station wagons Bermuda, Villager and Roundup, which were built on the smaller Ford-based frame.
The total number of 4-door Citation Hardtops built was 5, 112. I don’t know how many have survived over the years.
I can tell you that this Edsel is driven to local car shows every weekend in the spring, summer and fall. It is garage kept and has only been caught in a rainstorm twice. I have tried to keep this car completely original with the exception of replacing the generator with an alternator and the vacuum wipers with electric wipers. Everything on this car works, as it should with the exception of the clock.
My deteriorating health is the only reason this car is being offered for sale. The reserve is reasonable. I have more money invested in this car than what it will be sold for.
I have numerous pictures. Please ask any questions you have.
