Studebaker Silver Hawk custom (1959)
for sale

Price: US $18,000.00

Description:

I bought this 1959 Studebaker Hawk from the grandson of the original owner in California in Feb 2010. I am the second owner. The body was in great condition – no dents, accidents, nor rust. Studebaker built 7788 Silver Hawks in 1959. I have a copy of the original build sheet.
Because the grey interior and red exterior needed to be replaced, my restoration and modification began. This Hawk had not experienced ANY rust in its life (very rare), an off frame was not necessary nor conducted. I like the original Loewy 1953 profile but prefer the Hawk design, hence, the fins were removed and thus began my custom work and selection of favorite Hawk items. The old paint was sanded to bare metal and primed. All bright work removed along with doors, hood, deck lid, bumpers, and windshield for painting Honduras Maroon, BC/CC. The rear fender bright work from a 1961 paint scheme was added. The original 259 V8 engine was removed by a local hot rod shop and a 1988 Camaro 305 with its original 700R4 that had 48, 000 miles was installed with new headers, a dual exhaust, and a rebuilt Holley AFB carburetor.
