For sale is a 1966 Datsun Roadster with a Mazda Miata engine swap. The engine is a 1.8L engine out of a 1994 Miata mated to a 5 speed manual transmission from a 1998 Miata. The swap was performed several owners prior to me. True mileage on the chassis and the engine is unknown.
This is a fantastically fun car to drive and makes backroads really enjoyable. You can buy this car and enjoy it as-is or use it as a solid base for a project car. The drivetrain and electrical systems are strong and reliable, I've put >2500 miles on it during my 3 years of ownership and haven't had any problems. The car would need an oil change this year and under my ownership has had new spark plugs, oil and filter change, new air filter, transmission fluid flush, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and fuel filter replacement. The previous owner serviced the clutch hydraulics and installed fresh tires roughly 5500 miles ago.
The car does need some love to get it to the next level both mechanically and cosmetically:
Tachometer, speedometer, odometer, and ammeter are inoperative.
Needs a new top, current soft top is functional but the rear window flap is torn out so it won't keep out heavy rain.Paint and chrome need a good refreshing.Lots of rust including the floorpan.Passenger door is inoperative.
Comes with a clean California title. This car is also up for sale locally and this auction may be withdrawn at any time.
