Sister recently needed a temporary car and I wanted it to be reliable and cheap to run. These cars are so well engineered and built! I spent about $2, 000 putting the following NEW parts on:
Timing belt kit including:new belt, tensioners, pulleys, bearings, water pumpradiatorspark plugsexhaust gasket, catalytic converter gaskets.valve cover gaskets and new grommetsbrake rotors AND pads on all four corners plus new wear sensorsAlignment and oil change in the last 1, 000 miles2 almost new tires, 1 good and 1 maybe in the next year due
Basically everything was done to the engine so it would be ready for trips between ATL and Chatt on a regular basis.
Cosmetically the car is ugly and has little annoying things about it BUT I would drive it anywhere and it would make the perfect $3, 000 car that you can drive for a year and resale for $3, 000. Rather than buy a $2, 000 car that needs $1, 500 to be reliable why not buy this and just drive it til you get your next car. How convenient is that? You buy this car at a good deal and it arrives to you ready to register. Keep in mind this is a $3, 000 car so it will not be perfect. It was a $55, 000 vehicle and engineered to a very high standard.
Known Issues:The dash reads high for some reason, the speedo, the tach, and the temp gauge all read a notch higher than what it really is.Rear trunk mat is missing, I cut a piece of wood to fit the trunk area and the dirty old spare tire cover thing is laid on top of it. I would just throw it out.VSC light comes on occasionally. When driven often or for a trip it usually goes off so it may not be on upon delivery but it might be a speed sensor issue. No check engine light.Could use new Shocks soon.One of the boots is ripped on the steering rack so eventually that will need addressing.
The car also has a nice touchscreen bluetooth stereo installed so you can sync your phone.
I am also offering delivery of the car up to 500 miles from 37416 zip code to your newest Enterprise rent a car (For Free). After that its an extra $250 for up to another 500 miles for a total of 1, 000 miles from 37416.However, If you decide not to buy after I have it delivered that is fine but you will forfeit the $250 deposit. plus any fees for the delivery beyond the 500 miles.
