Description
You are viewing an exceptionally rare and extremely well maintained e39 BMW M5. This car has very low mileage and is exceptionally clean, almost like new. Additionally, this car is very stock (other than Dinan modifications listed below). Many of these BMWs have been modified with aftermarket parts; this car has only been serviced with BWM OEM equipment and maintains a very original look and feel which is desirable by collectors. This is indeed a survivor car that has had Dinan upgrades early in its life, and has for the most part had the same configuration for its entire life.
These BMWs are known as one of best BMWs of the modern era, and if you are looking at this you likely already know how amazing this car is. This car has very well documented pedigree and has had a very complete and thorough mechanical assessment performed. This car is mechanically sorted and ready to go for a very long time. (See recent maintenance)
-No Vanos issues/rattles, runs smooth
- Motor Runs and sounds extremely healthy and pulls strong
- Suspension is great and handles excellent (especially with Dinan upgrades)
- Interior is excellent; seats, gauges, switches, window shades function properly
- 6 Speed Transmission shifts great, new BMW OEM clutch and flywheel professionally installed (just completed 500 mile break in period)
- BF Goodrich Tires are in good condition on excellent Dinan Lightweight wheels (Super rare and expensive rims, make the car look unique!)
- Oil change with LiquiMoly 10-60 synthetic, BWM and Mahle Filters (I use a BMW filter at oil change and replace half way through with a Mahle unit and top off oil). (Comes with 7 quarts and 2 filters)
I bought this car with the intention of driving it forever, but unfortunately life changes happen and I can’t bring myself to put baby seats in the back and drive kids around. The interior is almost perfect and kids would definitely cause unwanted wear. I will likely be building an M5 wagon to replace this car.
I bought this car last summer and have barely driven it as I have been performing extensive service to make sure it is completely mechanically sound. (See recent maintenance below) The floor mats still have the dealership protective film! I did significant research to find the ideal, unmodified Dinan M5, which took me many months of searching. I had a PPI done at BMW San Luis Obispo prior to purchase and will be available per request. I additionally had the car completely examined by the Bavarian Workshop (Arguably SoCal’s best Dinan dealer and BMW Shop overall). The much more thorough Bav Workshop assessment can be provided as well per request. Note: The Bav Workshop assessment was waay more thorough that that provided by BMW.
The car is very original with no modifications other than the Dinan modifications listed below. Pre-purchase I called Dinan and verified that documented modifications were indeed installed on the vehicle in 2001. Note: Seems to have had a BMW installed OEM phone system which is still in place (I may still have the original phone cradle)

Maintenance
The car has been very well maintained and records are present. I have a binder full of records dating back to 2001. All historical maintenance was done at BMW Service. Recent service was for the most part done at the Bavarian Workshop (as I trust their quality of work is better that that of BMW service).
Significant maintenance was done to this vehicle over the years; I have the related documents in a binder for the buyer. I will only list the recent maintenance that I have performed.

- Rear Windshield Trim replacement (Cosmetic)
- Two Driver Side Door Handles Repainted due to clear coat fading
- BMW Front Emblem Replacement
- New Windshield Wipers
- AC System Inspection/Check
- BMW Wheel Locks
I have gone through and corrected almost everything that I could find. All major fixes have been performed. There are a couple of minor issues, mostly cosmetic that I have yet to address, as follows:
- Per Bav Workshop, one of the horn modules is not working properly (horn works just not optimal tone), I have sourced an OEM replacement and will include in sale if requested (will attempt to have it fixed prior to sale if possible).
- Window trim on the rear driver side small window is dry/cracking a bit (cosmetic – see picture)
- Rear bumper blemish on driver side (see picture) – I have not gotten around to fixing this.
- Very minor oil seepage from valve cover – typical, did not warrant replacement per shop
- Typical, minor wear on interior center arm rest (See picture). Otherwise excellent interior
- Various small paint chips due to typical wear and tear – No major dings, dents or issues. I believe all the paint except driver side door handles to be original (Can provide pictures for the two paint blemishes that I consider significant). Car will come with BMW factory 2 stage touch up paint in the proper color.
The issues stated above are for the most part minor and cosmetic. I can take the car in for any additional service to correct the minor issues for the new owner (at owners cost); will need to done after vehicle is purchased.
This car is ready to go, will be detailed (washed, waxed, interior cleaned) for new owner! I expect it to be ready to go for many miles, drive with confidence!

I have put very few miles on this car (mostly driven home from purchase and back and forth to shop), and have done my best to describe this vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible.
