Alfa Romeo Other (1967)
for sale

Price: US $49,000.00

Description:

This 1967 (Serial number suggest it's a 66') Alfa Duetto was bought by me in 1986 in running condition. I was told the original owner purchased it in LA and I am the 3rd owner. In 1993 I rolled the car into my shop and stripped it to a bare chassis/ body shell (Rust free) and did a complete ground up restoration. I have only put on about 2500 miles on it since the complete overhaul. Current mileage shows, I assume rolled over (1)26, 295 miles. Since cosmetically it was a little tired looking I just completed a cosmetic refresh June 2015. in preparation for sale. I really love the car, but I'm not driving it and I need to make room in the garage for another project. (The restoration of my fathers C sedan race car.)
I grew up around sports car racing in New England so this car was built as an enthusiast car, of the late 60's early 70's, using parts that would have been available at that time. When the engine was rebuilt it was bored out to 1750 and bearings, seals, pistons and cams were replaced or upgraded and free flow exhaust system was added. The car also has an upgraded 1972 rear end with limited slip differential & better brakes which were much better than the original 67' rear end (Original differential is included with the car). The suspension upgrades include; rally springs, stiffer sway bars and Koni shocks, Minilite (Panasport) wheels and Yokohama 195/45ZR15 tires. Also a smaller beefy steering wheel and sport mirrors. The starter switch had a key jammed in it, so this was bypassed and a main on-off switch and starter switch was installed in the ash tray with an additional hidden security switch. (when you buy the car, I'll show you were it is;)) Also, the original ashtray plastic piece was damaged, so while making a new one, I added a cup holder to match the style of the original plastic. The interior and paint were just redone and the wheels have been powder coated. The colors of red with yellow wheels are like the Ferrari and Alfa teams raced in the 60's and 70's.
The car can be put back to original 1967 appearance with original parts, many of which are included with the car. These Include; original 67 differential, swing arms, shocks and sway bars and steering wheel. I will also include many spare parts; a set of original OEM rubber trim for convertible top, new convertible top replacement (fabric) (Missing frame), Hard top (Needs refinishing), drive shaft donut & support bushing, original taillight assemblies, original headlamp covers (fogged, but can be polished) original and copies of factory service manuals along with an Alfa Ricambi parts manual and catalog. I have been making things for film, amusement parks and the aerospace business for 35 years, so when I rebuilt the car, any part I could not rebuild or replace, I made. So included with the car are the tooling and silicone molds used to make these replacement parts. These are mostly cosmetic parts and they were made using materials equivalent to the original parts and whenever possible, an original part was used for the mold.
