Description of 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TI Super, Autodelta works car
The racing version of the Giulia TI Super was the responsibility of the factory’s “Autodelta” competitions department, which had been established in 1961 as an independent company “Carlo Chiti” and “Ludovico Chizzoia”, and subsequently adsorbed by Alfa Romeo.
This prepared by Autodelta for 1965 Sebring 3-Hour race in the USA and finished 6th overall. The Giulia TI Super, Autodelta works car, also competed in the SCCA GT2 class in 1979.
This Autodelta Giulia TI Super was imported into Japan in 2008 and registered also in “Registro Giulia TI Super ( here -tisuper.it/index.htm)” in Itallia. It had previously been restored in 1982 with correct lightweight body panels. In 2010, It’s floors and side-sill have been replaced as new.
The engine is by with rare“blank engine number” because the engine has been “made” by Autodelta itself not by Alfa Romeo , then there is cast characters “AD” in hand-carved triangle and number 18 on the engine block. It features the full oiling block; hardened crank shaft and con-rods are those for competition, big-valve cylinder head and twin rare Weber 45DCOE14 carbs, a type used only for TZ, GTA and TI Super. Original Campagnolo magnesium wheels; rare large size of 7Jx14. Autodelta air intake.
Included in the sale is an SCCA logbook and original US Title. Alfa Romeo SpA Certificate of Conformity and many other documents. A rare opportunity to acquire one of highly desirable ex-works Alfa Romeo “Homologation Specials” prepared by Autodelta and possessing in-period race history.
The 1964 Giulia TI Super comes with US title and been kept in garage in UK at the moment.
