This car has spent all of its life in California. Mostly rust free apart from a couple of small areas around the rear seat bolts (please see picture). AR1480744 was originally white and has seen two color changes over the years, once blue and now currently red. The paint is very presentable but has some chips, scratches, and small pitting.
The Engine currently in the car is a rebuilt 1750 from a 1971 Alfa Spider, with a 5 speed. It has a performance cam. I have the original Engine it would need rebuilding. The chrome trim has some small surface scratches. Car has the Carello headlights covers, and after market wheels with BF Goodrich P195/60R15 Touring T/A tires in good condition.The interior seats need recovering. The Passenger seat has been recovered but the seat back is not original. I have the original seat back (please see pic). The dashboard has been painted black and wood has been added to the instrument panel.The steering column housing needs to be properly fitted. The convertible top is pretty rough, could use as is but the rear window has faded out and there are some tears.
The car starts right up but needs warming up to idle smooth. Idles a little rough until the temperature reaches 180F, then she runs fine. Shifts through the gears well with no crunching, and she pulls with plenty of power.The brakes work well, but the brake boosters need connecting. Steering is tight and suspension very positive during fast cornering. Slight exhaust rattle when accelerating. Horn, lights, indicators all work. Overall the car is reliable. Clear California Title.
