This is a 1981 AMC Concord 4-Door Sedan that has been my wife's daily driver since May 2005. Now that we are both retired, only one daily driver vehicle is needed so this vehicle is now up for auction. I have maintained this vehicle over the years to assure that it was always in good drivable condition for her. I have performed the maintenance and/or repairs/replacements using New/NOS/Rebuilt parts over the years as follows: tune up to include spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor 2 months ago, air filter and air breather element 2 months ago, battery 6 months ago, radiator hoses 2 years ago, power steering pressure and return hoses 2 years ago, oil change and filter 2 months ago, A/C, alternator and power steering belts 3 years ago, heater control valve 1 month ago, retro-fit cast aluminum valve cover and gasket in place of the original troublesome plastic valve cover 2 months ago, fuel pump 5 years ago, brake master cylinder and rear brake drum wheel cylinders brass-sleeved and rebuilt by White Post Restorations 8 years ago, conversion to Purple Silicone Brake Fluid 8 years ago, front disc brake rotors 3 years ago, front disc brake pads 1 year ago, front disc brake calipers 3 years ago, rear drum brake shoes 3 years ago, rear brake drums 1 month ago, life-time repair and warranty on automatic transmission 8 years ago (NON-TRANSFERABLE TO NEW OWNER), radiator 5 years ago, engine de-clutching fan 5 years ago, aftermarket automatic transmission oil cooler at radiator 5 years ago, rear leaf springs and rear shocks 5 years ago, tailpipe 1 year ago, muffler 1 month ago, gas tank boiled out, pressure checked and coated 5 years ago, emergency brake cable assembly from interior to rear wheels 5 years ago, front end upper and lower control arms with ball joints and bushings 2 months ago, front shocks 2 months ago, upper control arm spring seat assemblies-good low mileage used ones 2 months ago, lower control arm bumpers 2 months ago, front sway bay bushings and end link kits 2 months ago, idler and pitman arms 2 months ago, inner and outer tie rod ends 2 months ago, strut rod bushings 1 year ago, front end alignment, under hood insulation 1 month ago, tires mounted, balanced and new valve stems installed 6 months ago with USED P195/70R14 Blackwall tires with half the tread depth remaining (a slight humming noise comes from them since they are used and not new). I will now note the repairs that need to be performed: the interior floor carpeting is torn on the driver's side but is good otherwise, the exterior paint is good and can be compounded and polished out to look good, the A/C works but may not be as cold as desired and may just need a re-charge, the cruise control cable at the carburetor is broken and will have to be replaced, the interior headliner is torn and soiled from a windshield leak that I repaired on the outside right upper corner with body caulk as shown in the pictures, the driver's seat belt receptacle is broken, however, I have been using the center receptacle which is not broken, both front seat belt receptacle beige plastic sheaths are broken and the mount bolts are frozen-in from rust, so it may take some heat or brute force to remove and install new mount bolts, the front power windows work, the left rear power window will not go down when the toggle switch is applied, the right rear power window works intermittently, the power door locks work intermittently, the original 1981 AMC Concord wheel covers seem to pop off very often so I have installed 1979 AMC Spirit wheel covers on the right side and 1978 AMC Concord beige and copper color band wheel covers on the left side as shown in the pictures, which do not pop off; the original 1981 AMC Concord wheel covers will be included in this auction, the outside right upper corner of the windshield is rusted and was leaking, however, as mentioned previously, I have repaired it with body caulk as shown in the pictures, the exterior vinyl top could be replaced or just repaired at the C pillar bottoms as shown in the pictures; I have shown the left side which is the one that is the worse, the right side is not too bad, the front and rear aluminum bumpers have dulled but can be polished out, there are some other small tears in the vinyl top in some areas not shown in the pictures, the right rear quarter panel has rusted through at the bottom by the wheel well and will have to be repaired; the left side, not shown in the picture, is not too bad but is starting to rust, there is also rust through on the inside of the driver's rocker panel and front foot firewall area not shown in the pictures, however, it is repairable and not too bad, there is also some rust on the trunk floor, but again, it is repairable and not too bad, there is a small stone chip in the center of the windshield right by the inside rearview mirror mounting, the outside electric rearview mirrors driver's door switch is broken, however, the mirrors can still be adjusted manually. This is a very reliable daily driver vehicle that does not burn or leak oil and I will list its' equipment and working systems: 4.2 Liter 258 cubic inch 6-Cylinder engine, A/C, P/S, Power front disc brakes, Twin-Grip rear axle, AM/FM 4-speaker radio with power antenna, inside hood cable release, inside trunk button release, hood light, trunk light, sun visor lighted vanity mirror, tilt steering wheel, power door locks, power windows, power seats, heater-defroster-A/C, stainless steel door edge guards, three-spoke sport steering wheel with working horn, all interior and exterior lights work, electric windshield wipers and washers work. I have tried to describe this vehicle fully and it has just passed Pennsylvania State Inspection in June 2015. This vehicle is also listed for sale locally.
