Austin Healey Sprite

Austin Healey Sprite
for sale

Price: US $500.00

Description:

1964 Austin-Healey roadster project for parts or restoration with hardtop, wire wheels, radio (an option back then!). Vehicle is badly rusted and will need to be totally restored. However, this vehicle comes with the original 1098 engine and is restorable. The hardtop glass has no cracks or chips. The hardtop itself is worth several hundred dollars as is and the same can be said for the grill, wire wheels, and other parts.
The front floor boards were rusted and have been removed. Replacement floor boards and all other body panels needed are readily available from Moss Motors and other suppliers.
Besides the original drive train, which is very clean for a 50 year old car (see pics), the original seats and a few other bits are included. This vehicle does not run and the mechanicals will all have to be gone through as it has been sitting for years. The current condition of the engine and transmission is unknown. However, these engines and transmissions are revered for their simplicity and are generally easy to rebuild.I will also include the original metal window side skirts (glass needs to be replaced in both), but these sell for $500 and again you can get the glass and all new interior parts from Moss Motors or other Austin catalog companies. Moss sells every part for the car including full rubber sets for the entire car for under $100, carpet sets for $300, and vinyl replacements seat sets for $500. New replacement parts and restoring costs for Sprites is MUCH cheaper than cars of the same vintage, like Ford Mustangs. I have the keys and a clear Georgia title for the vehicle.
I am selling because I bought it as part of a package deal with two other Sprite project cars and do not need this one. These early Austin-Healeys are appreciating very fast - just check the prices on eBay and will make a great investment. These cars are also an inexpensive way to join the vintage racing circuit and people are also hotrodding them with Ford Vtec and Miata engines because they handle so well and only weigh 1, 500 lbs. The parts alone are worth well more than I expect to get. BUYER PAYS FOR SHIPPING. Please ask any questions prior to bidding - what you see is what is included.
