You have now just encountered a very rare and restored 1969 Datsun Fairlady 2000 SPL311
1969 DATSUN SRL-311 Matching Number, Solex Mikuni Racing Carburetors, Polished original open-element Solex air cleaner, Competition and Street “C” cam (runs great on the street and flat-out), 7 quart oil pan, Polished Minilites, Rare Hard and Soft tops, and Tonneau cover.
New Midnight Black, base-coat/clear-coat paint.

You have now just encountered a very rare and restored 1969 Datsun Fairlady 2000 SPL311 Roadster. For those of you who are not familiar with these Datsun 2000 Roadsters, this was Datsuns/Nissans very first sports car to hit American soil. Very few of these in left hand drive were built for the 1969 model year and these cars were built and brought here to compete with the MG's, Triumphs and alike cars but without the constant oil puddles one experienced with the European cars. Reputed as a bargain sports car, the Datsun 2000 was produced to help build the Datsun racing image up. With a lower price tag than any vehicle in its class, the 2000 won its class in C Production and D-Production, in SCCA racing on a consistent basis even after production was over. John Morton, Bob Sharp and several others raced the Datsun 2000, not to be confused with the Datsun 1600.
THE MODEL:
“The introduction of the 1967 SR311 and SRL311 saw a major update. Produced from March 1967 – 1970, the SR311 used a 2.0 L (1, 982 cc) U20 engine and offered a five-speed manual transmission, somewhat unexpected for a production car at the time.
A well-tuned stock Datsun 2000 was capable of cruising at 120 mph (193 km/h) and capable of making better than 30 mpg (7.8 L/100 km) and red-lined at exactly 7000 rpm and 140 mph in fourth gear with a 5-speed manual. It was replaced with the more sedate, stylish, and popular Z series”.

-THERE ARE A FEW CHIPS / IMPERFECTIONS IN THE PAINT, THE FLOOR WAS PATCHED AND THERE ARE METAL PLATES UNDER SEATS DUE TO RUST, SOME BONDO IN THE ROCKERS, RUNNING LIGHTS AND HOOD LETTERS REMOVED AND HOLES PATCHED, OIL LEAKS FROM THE REAR OF THE ENGINE, HAS AN AFTERMARKET EXHAUST SYSTEM, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, REPAINT FROM ORIGINAL RED, HAS DASH CAP OVER ORIGINAL CRACKED DASH. PLASTIC SURROUND FOR LICENSE PLATE IS PEELING, BUMPER GUARDS REMOVED AND HOLES IN BUMPER WELDED CLOSED, THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK, INNER WINDSHIELD FOAM REPLACED COVERED WITH RED VINYL, NON-STOCK SUN VISORS.
the car is 47 years old, and while it is an excellent and fast car, it is not perfect. solex carburetors are hard to keep in tune, the car has squeak over bumps, the heater may not work, but over all the car is lovely to look at, starts INSTANTLY, and runs strong.
