I have repaired or replaced almost every part of this 280z in order to make it one of the nicest, most reliable Z's out there.
I honestly think that 69, 385 is the correct, non-rolled mileage. There is no real way to prove this but the numbers all perfectly line up on the odometer, the pedals have very little mileage, all the original stickers are in place, and the car has a great fitment all around.
The car was parked for an indeterminate amount of time when I purchased it. It was sitting due to a non-starting issue. I repaired the cold start injector and replaced the pcm with a known working unit. I changed the oil with ZR-1 10w-30 racing oil and it started right up. It smoked so I replaced all of the the stem seals and did a valve job. I also replaced the thermostat, had the radiatior and the fuel tank hot tanked and cleaned. I sealed the gas tank at this time. I replaced the fuel pump with a new unit and replaced all the fuel filters. I changed out the oil pump for the high volume unit from a turbo model. I also replaced the oil pressure sending unit. I decided to have some fun and put some headers on it.
There was rust in the floorpans and this was cut out, the area treated and sealed and the floor was repaired. The car is now rust free. I have installed all new injectors and fuel lines, as well as vacuum lines. This car should be trouble free for many years!
All the gauges work, though I think the clock is intermittent. The radio works but the antennae no longer goes up and down, I think some gears are stripped. I put an 8 track in it and though it made some clicking and whirring noises, it did not play :(.
I installed a new carpet kit with scotchguarded floor mats. I also recovered the seats with 240z style seat covers because I think they look a little better than stock 280 seats.
This car has factory A/C and a dealer? added option of cruise control. I have not tried to use either of those. It also has the rare space saver wheel, complete tool kit and wheel chocks still in their baggies. It has the can of air for the the spare!
