This is a nice, rust free, restorable 1947 Desoto Deluxe Sedan. It's all there for someone who would like a restorable car. Some of the glass is missing or broken, however, it's all flat glass and can easily be cut by a glass shop relatively inexpensively.
The engine has been replaced at some point with the larger Chrysler Spitfire 251. It will run, and was last run about 4 years ago. It's been sitting since. The Fluid Drive transmission did seem to operate fine too. The radiator is not installed in the engine compartment, but it does come with the car. WIth a little work, this car could be easily roadworthy; it would need tires, brakes, a radiator re-core, and a tune-up. Most all of the chrome is there, but look at the photos; the bumpers would need to be re-plated.
These cars are getting hard to come by. Here's your chance to get a great restorable Desoto or at the minimum, an excellent complete parts car. Keep this in mind and bid to win! A $500 non refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction closing. Payment in full must be made 7 days after the end of the auction. I will accept check, cashiers check, money order but allow 7 days for payment to clear prior pickup. Of course cash is fine at the time of pickup. This car is for sale locally as well, so I do reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell.
