2003 SVT COBRA MUSTANG - 117K miles. Adult owned, never wrecked, clean title and carfax. Has original motor and transmission. Car was daily driver for previous owner who put a lot of highway commuting miles on it. I purchased it as a second vehicle and it has been a garage queen most of the time I owned it. I intended on building the car for Sebring open track days and now that it's ready to go I just lost my job. I never made it out the track, but did go out for a couple test and tune nights at the drag strip. With street radials, no burn out, and a soft 2k RPM launch the car went 13 flat. I never went with drag radials, never launched it at high RPM's, or pushed the car into the redline. I'm sure it would run 12's if you really pounded on it and that's what they run in the video review posted below.
These cars are very solid from the factory with forged internals and the supercharged motor is very tight. New Nitto Drag Radials out back, new brakes all around with new front rotors. Rear seat delete in matching black leather (original seat goes with car). Four point roll bar with race harnesses, fire extinguisher, new stereo with bluetooth. AC blows cold. I've used full synthetic oil every oil change. The car sounds amazing and I've been told several times that it's the best sounding car they've ever heard. I agree.
Third and fourth gear are starting to rub a little. It's likely the synchronizers are getting a little worn but there's no way to know for sure until it's pulled. The car has a newer clutch with few miles (per previous owner) and feels tight as drum. I have just shifted it from second gear to fifth most of the time in daily driving. It doesn't stick in any gear, the clutch is good and so I've let it be for now. It may be a cheap fix if you want smooth shifts or a couple grand for a rebuild. In my opinion and previous experience the trans is going to be an option to repair or leave it be and get thousands of miles from it. If any additional mods are done and the car makes any more power then you might upgrade it at that time anyway. I've priced the car accordingly.
The ABS system light is on. My mechanic says it's the right rear sensor and about $150 to fix. I didn't want the traction control nany being on anyway so I didn't have it fixed only to turn it off, which can be done with the traction control button in the car if you want the option.
Paint is really good on most of the car except the front and rear bumper which like most are little faded. I've gotten a quote of $300 to spray them both. There are some parking lot dings here and there. As you can see in the pictures the paint is glossy and does shine bright. You can tell it's a garage kept car.
Below is a list of modifications:
Steeda Cold Air Intake
Chip Tune with 3 on the fly power settings inside car (stock, street, race)
Custom exhaust from H-Pipe back to Flowmaster 40's and stainless borla cat-back
Short throw shifter
Anti-venom transmission mod
IRS brace
Subframe Connectors
Lowered 2 inches on race springs
The car is very powerful (450+ HP) and I will not let anyone take it for a test drive without cash in hand and experience driving cars with this kind of horsepower.
