Super cool barn find! Been sitting since the late 70's. Awesome patina with original door lettering. Still wearing the old pie crust bias tires. Everything looks to be there. Heavy factory undercoating has protected truck through the years. Dealer installed grille guard and fender skirts that make this truck stand out!
Motor looks to be the original 240 six cylinder. Motor is stuck and I have not tried to move it. I did pour some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders. Nothing looks butchered in engine compartment. Hood opens both directions! Right side seems to have something unhooked. You can easily take the entire hood off if you want to.
Body is really solid with just a little rust through on the tailgate and at the front of the bed. Interior is in good condition. Seat will need recovered but all the foam looks great. Headliner is coming down. Very cool round dash that is complete. Front windshield is excellent with just one small star. Left door glass is cracked.
One of the neatest things about this truck is that I have the original paperwork when it was bought new in 1956. I have the dealer invoice from International Harvester Company. I also have the payment schedule from the balanced that was financed. I have a copy of the original title too. It is only a copy since it was sold recently. I have a clean Louisiana title.
I did not worry too much about getting it running since I figured the new owner might want to upgrade the drivetrain anyway. It really would be nice on an S-10 chassis or something, or it would be nice just like it is, I'll let the new owner decide! If you have any questions please call.
