You are looking at a 1997 Land Rover Defender LE #210 of the last 300 Defenders ever legally imported into the U.S. I bought this vehicle 4/1/2013 from an insurance auction back East. I was told it had flood damage from Hurricane Sandy. It was shipped to my business in Los Angeles, when it arrived we pushed it into the work shop & checked the differential oils, transfer case & transmission fluids, all were new. We then dipped the fuel tank..fuel was good & not contaminated. I then pulled out the passenger seat base & removed the metal cover & found a shop rag in there that had never been wet & also found the inside of the seat box was full of dust. Knowing water had not been that high the only thing left to do was ...start the vehicle... I turned the key & it started straight away. I drove it onto a hoist & did a complete inspection & could find absolutely no evidence of any kind of water damage. The only thing I can think is that it was at a dealership for service & they just totaled everything on the lot. So this vehicle does have a SALVAGE TITLE.This vehicle is rust free, runs & drives great & is serviced up to date. The willow green paintwork is prone to fading, so there are a couple of panels that need to be repainted & the roof basket could do with painting. Please feel free to ask any REASONABLE questions.
