2006 Land Rover LR3

Land Rover LR3 (2006)
for sale

Price: US $7,750.00

Description:

This LR3 is in very good, clean condition... Non-smoker and no pets either. It nearly has 182, 500-highway miles on it now (as the numbers keep moving up every day) since this is my daily driver. My wife and I have had the truck since we purchased it with very low miles back in 2008 (with 24, 000 miles on it at the time, if I remember it correctly). Ever since then, the truck has been well-maintained to keep it running in top shape.
Although it's getting a bit high on the miles, the usual issues with LR3s above 100, 000 miles have already been taken care of on this particular one. In the past year or so, I've spent around $4, 000 on new parts/repairs for it. Since September, more than half of that amount was for the following:
(4) brand new tires (Pirelli Scorpions); (2) brand new keyless-remote fobs; a new actuator & handle for the rear lift gate (because it stopped opening); a new car battery; a new solenoid valve; new front-and-rear bulbs for all exterior lights; and a new serpentine belt.
The rest of that amount prior to that was for new brakes, a new front differential (because it was making loud clicking noises), and a repair on the gear-shift lever (because it was getting a bit stiff to move). As of today, there are no known existing mechanical or electrical issues. There are no warning lights on the panel, and there are no squeaks, rattles, wobbles, knocking, leaks, etc. This vehicle just passed the state inspection, by the way.
As usual with a vehicle with a lot of usage, there are some minor cosmetic issues... which include the following:
a door ding on the passenger-side, rear door (thanks to some careless consumer with a shopping cart); a puncture wound on the passenger-side, side-view mirror housing (thanks to a guy who parked next to it with his Ford F-series pickup (with the extended side-view mirrors); the hinge on the gray-plastic handle located on the center-console lid broke off on one side of it; there is a ding-crack on the windshield. It happened over a month ago, too;and, of course as expected, there are some little surface scratches all around... and a few paint chips on the front part of the hood/bonnet, etc.
If the windshield doesn't crack all the way through from one-side-to-the-other during the winter months then my advice is to wait until springtime to replace it... since winter is a messy season anyway with things frequently kicking up on the roads. That's the reason why I haven't replaced it yet.
Driving the LR3 is like feeling like royalty. Land Rovers, besides having that British mojo about them, are well known for their off-road capabilities (which I've never done with this truck, by the way), and the driving experience feels similar to being in sport sedan with the smoothness, comfort, and agility it provides. It is fairly quiet, too, in terms of cabin noise for a large SUV. Then again, the Europeans are good at that stuff when it comes to quality cars. This truck gets a lot of stares, and every once-in-a-while there are folks asking me how I like it and giving compliments about the truck. One guy I spoke to not long ago said that he likes the look of it more than the current model, the LR4.
The V6 is powerful... although it may not have the higher torque of a V8 model, but it is certainly better on gas. The truck also has a large fuel capacity which helps to avoid making frequent gas-station stops.
I'm going to miss this ride for sure (and especially with that HK stereo system in it), but it is time to move on as we're looking to downgrade to a smaller, more practical vehicle as my work will soon require me to drive longer distances.
In case I may have missed something to describe more in detail and you have a question about it, feel free to ask me. I also have additional pictures that I can provide upon request (since I am limited to only 12 pictures for this listing).
There is no cargo cover/net included, but the floor mats (Land Rover OEM cloth-type) and the owner's brochures/manuals are. A deposit of $500.00 is due from the winning bidder within 24 hours after the auction ends and it is accepted via PAYPAL. The balance is due within 7 days after the end of the auction via a cashier's check or by cash in person. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup and all other preparations for transport. If you're local, you can come by to see the vehicle for yourself and take it for a test drive.
Thank you.
