This is my 1980 Land Rover Series 3 88 Short Wheel Base in original green. I imported it personally from the UK to Florida in 2013. It is RHD and has a 2.2 Gas engine and manual 4 speed box. It is VERY original - my understanding is that before i purchased it in the UK in 2013, it had only had two previous owners. The mileage is at 47, 950 - I cannot verify this but i have no reason not to believe it. These vehicles are getting hard to find in unmolested and unrestored condition. This one is very straight. There is no rust to the chassis and the bodywork is in acceptable condition for the age. It has the original engine. The interior has two seats up front with a central cubby box. There are two side, inward facing benches in the back. The wheels are original although they could do with a sandblast and repaint. It starts every time and we have used it regularly for trips around Miami Beach - it always attracts a great deal of attention. It has always been garaged whilst in the US.
In November 2014, i had a reputable Florida Land Rover specialist remove the engine and transmission and replace all the seals. They checked the clutch. The entire braking system was rebuilt - it now stops! The worn main-shaft was also replaced. The cost was in the region of $3000.
Recently, i have replaced the clutch slave and master as it was leaking fluid. Cost in the region of $500.
The vehicle has clear Florida Antique title
It's time to go as we are on the move. It will be sad to see it go.
