I purchased this Land Rover 3 years ago with the intent of completely stripping it down and going through the entire car. My interests have changed and therefore I am selling it, also there are too many projects going on and I could use the room.
When I bought it, it was running but not on the road. I went through the brakes (replaced the fronts), installed a new fuel pump from Rovers North, and had 5 new tires installed. I registered it and drove it off and on for a few months. I maybe put 70 miles on it, mostly around town. I then put it in the garage and it has been sitting.
I have to double check on the mileage as I am not sure.

Since owning it I have installed:-New Tires-New Fuel Pump-New RN side mirrors-welded on a new frame outrigger from RN-New Led running lights on the front (These fit the original lenses if you want leds with the original look FYI)
New Parts not installed:-New cabin kick panels (Left and Right)-New Shocks all around-New RN side Door panels-New Brake Shoes (4 sets)
I will do my best to describe the Rover being 100% honest in order to facilitate a smooth transaction. I want to sell the car and I want you to be very happy buying it.
Exterior:
It is an old Land Rover with some dings, scrapes, and small pitting/holes here and there. The doors sag a bit but close as the hinges tend to get well used. A fix for that issue is replacing the pins in the hinges. The galvanizing is worn and was repainted at some point, If keeping it I would sand it lightly and get a galvy spray can from Eastwood. The bulkhead is rusty as these tended to rust due to the pop up air vents leaking water down.
The hard top comes off easily, a back side window is cracked...from taking it off the first time. The window tops are rusty as you can see in the pictures of the parts on the ground.
Frame:
The frame has been repaired in a few spots and could be better, but for its age it isn't too bad as they used to waxyol these and there is still a heavy coating on it. But there is rust on the frame as to be expected.
Engine:
Runs well, idles nicely, I've had it up to around 55mph and everything in between.
Transmission:
Clutch is good, High and Low work, as well as 4wd. I tested them out in the yard and made sure all 4 spun.
Brakes:
Brakes are functioning but I would go through them as they are soft.
Interior:
Needs floor work and seats. You can buy these from RN or out of England. I like the England route for some parts as they are cheaper and if you are buying certain things, even with shipping it is cheaper. New seats for the front will run you about $250 with shipping, or you can find some used parts for less. The Land Rover community is amazing with information and generosity of parts. All you have to do is go onto the forums online to experience it.
As you can see this is not an LR that you can pop in and drive it instantly, but there would not be a ton of work to be able to drive it on the road. There are zero issues to insure this through Hagerty as that was the company I used when I had it on the road. If you want to convert it to a LHD vehicle that can be done as well.
Title is free and clear and in hand and was registered in NYS by me so there are no issues there.

I am going to be out of town from July 18-August 4th. If you can pick it up prior..great. Or you can pick it up those dates as well. If you are from the general area we may be able to work out a time while I am away.
Also, if you are local we may be able to arrange shipping, but this would have to be after August 4th. We would have to speak prior to purchase if you would like to consider it.
