The 280SE was part of the line fist called the “S-Class” as this vehicle won its place by being named European Car of the Year in 1974, just 2 years after its appearance. The car sold for $30, 503 in 1980. Its powerful engine is a 2, 746 cubic centimeter 6 cylinder producing 182 HP and being so safe that today, people still refer to it as “the safe” or “the tank”. These cars where used by presidents and embassies worldwide for their luxury and safety.
This particular car is a three owner car, meticulously maintained 61, 000 documented miles, these engines can go for over 300, 000 miles with routine maintenance. Everything in the car works fine, A/C, power windows, power door locks, radio, power antenna, cruise control, Becker Europa II Radio. Finished in Silberblau (Silver Blue Metallic color code 930) and Blue interior. This car has the luxury wheels, not the hubcaps like most of the era.
Straight body, beautiful lines. This car was purchased and stayed in California for all its life until we purchased it.
The first owner was XXXXX Corp in L.A., second was XXXXX Corp in L.A, the car was put in storage for 20 years and the third owner was a movie producer and specialty car program producer. Very well taken care of car. We have the names of previous owners but do not want them divulged to everyone on ebay.
