There were a total of approx. 101, 000 MGAs built. In 1961 and 1962 Three Hundred Ninety Five 1600 MKIIs were built using the special chassis from the then discontinued MGA Twin Cam, also from the Twin Cams came the 4 Dunlop pin drive wheels, 4 wheel disk brake system with separate clutch and brake master cylinders and many other less obvious changes. The 1600 MKII Deluxe was born with all the attributes of the twin cam and none of the troubling engine problems that doomed the twin cams success and caused the factory to stop twin cam production. The 1600 MKII MGAs are considered the best of the MGA push rod engine line with the largest 1622 engines horizontal tail lights and recessed grille slats, added to that the competition suspension and other special Deluxe features mentioned above and you have the MGA 1600 MKII Deluxe the best MG had to offer at the time and truly a rare collector car. This MGA 1600 MKII Deluxe comes with it's heritage certificate proving it left the factory as one of the very few mysterious 1600 MKII Deluxes. This car runs and drives very well, the original 1622 engine is completely overhauled, the optional close ratio gear box shifts perfectly and the power curve is enjoyed through the 4.55 rear end. Interior has leather MGB seats in excellent condition carpet and panels also in great shape. Paint is nice there's no rust anywhere the bottom is clean and painted. All systems function properly no strange noises. The top and side curtains are in fair condition the tonneau is tan and in great condition. The bonnet has louvers for additional cooling (and looks). The tires and brakes are new. Here's a chance to own one of the rarest of the rare MGAs in great condition ready to drive and show with confidence. Both the engine and close ratio gearbox are original to this car. I drive this car often its no trailer queen its ready to go right now which is very unusual for such a rare and desirable car.
The grill has a slight dent on the center vertical brace and the front bumper has a bolt slightly pushed out from a parking lot ding but nothing too severe.
