Here's a great old shoe of an MGB. I'm it's second owner. I drove this car about ten miles each way to work for a few years, and it almost always put a smile on my face. It's a strong runner. Still fitted with its (properly set up!) SU's. Car holds an idle without hunting No flat spots. rips to red line. Shifts and stops as it should, clutch is good and electrics are in order except for (no) horns. Moto Lita wheel, euro tail light lenses, and Lucas PL headlights, chrome wires, replacement non stock temp and oil pressure gauges. This car is a driver, a ten footer re- sprayed in black originally primrose. No collision damage, original aluminum hood etc. Lots of patina. This has a Pow'r Pak factory rebuild. It's a bit thirsty and requires premium gasoline, but it's the strongest running B I've ever owned and I've had easily a half dozen over forty plus years.
What it needs? Hmmm. I suppose one could argue for a complete restoration! I think that would be a bit of a shame. It sits low, and rides stiff, I like it that way, but you might think about rear springs? Some minor rust bubbles mostly down low on the fenders/rockers, but it's still a solid California two owner car, having lived around Santa Cruz, its not a bucket. Have some spares, split bow top, never used it. I drove it as you see it. It's a good ol' MkII, and I have had a blast with it. I bought a MBZ Sport version SLK a while back, as my driver and find myself not driving the B, I don't like cars to sit, so I'm seeking a new home for it. I welcome your inspection. Happy to answer any questions you may have. My starting price leaves me with the minimum, and if you suspect these cars are now on the upswing value wise, you might just do alright here.
