MG MGB GT (1974)

Price: US $200.00
For sale, my MGB-GT, with fresh Ford 302 engine. This car is basically a Cobra, with a stiffer body shell, and slightly more subtle look. The car was built over the past three years, starting with a solid, Eastern Wa. State car, that was shipped to me in Michigan, disassembled to a bare body shell, and then rebuilt with a fresh, dyno broken in Ford 302 V8, Tremec T-5 World Class transmission, and narrowed Chevy ten bolt rear limited slip axle. The front suspension/crossmember was replaced with a Fastcars Inc. independent suspension, featuring modern geometry, adjustable coil over springs / shocks, Wilwood Aluminum 4 pot calipers and steel rotors, and rod-end adjustable A-arms. This suspension saves 90 lbs. over the stock parts, and cost $4300. The rear suspension was replaced with a four-link, coil over shock design, by Classic Conversions, which saved 47 lbs. over the stock leaf spring/Armstrong shock set up, and is also fully adjustable. A low milage Chevy 10 bolt rear axle, from a Chevy Blazer Xtreme was narrowed, new high strength axles made, disc brakes re-drilled for the MGB bolt pattern, sand blasted, and painted, with all new bearings and seals. Bodywork features Sebring flares, with 16 ga. steel inner extensions bonded and riveted for extra rigidity, Sebring rear valance, and metal front valance. The car was professionally painted with PPG base/clear in Ford Red, then color sanded and buffed out to a beautiful finish. The interior was coated with Lizzard Skin sound deadener, and the underside, and wheel wells painted with rocker panel satin black. All door and window rubber was replaced with new, all new black carpet, and a pair of black leather Miata seats installed, along with new 3-point seat belts. The ugly, '74 style plastic dash was replaced with an early, '63-67 steel dash, (around 50 hrs. to mod and fit), and mostly new AutoMeter gauges installed. Battery is a gell cell Odessy, and a master cut off switch is tucked away behind the seats. The only body issues are some scratches in the side window glass, and the final install of the front, and rear window aluminum trim, which is in great shape, and included in sale. (When the paint was finished, windshield installed, the only local guy I trusted to re-fit the trim had retired, so I felt it best to wait for a qualified installer.) The car is beautiful, with an aggressive, cammy engine note, and has less than 200 miles since finishing. Another project has infected my mind, and I must sell the B to continue. I can supply about 60 build photos to anyone interested, and will answer any questions I can. Please call Tom, 231-946-0724 (Eastern time zone)
Please do not bid unless you intend on buying. My reserve is about 1/2 what I have into the car. Winning bidder must send a deposit of $1000., via Paypal within 24 hours of auction's end. Thanks!
