1979 MG Midget Shows 65, 000 Kilometer which converts to about 37, 000 mile This is a nice original car that has a lot of potential. I received a new maroon refinish about four years ago. It spent most of its' life in the care of a local physical who used it as his Sunday driver. The Midget was garaged in winter, so this is a clean relatively rust free car. It had a newer convertible top installed about four years ago when the paint was applied. the original gauge work It has a good speedometer and tachometer. Wipers work. Running lights and turn signals operate as they should. High beams operate as they should. Good exhaust system. Motor starts easy and runs well. This motor does not burn oil or knock. It has a four speed stick shift trans. & an light Clutch pedal no chatter, but the car hasn't been driven and the pedal is a bit low. It has newer tires with 80% rubber. Newer battery. T wo ignition keys. the AM/FM radio works. Windshield shows some white separation close to the bottom edges, and it has a small rock chip on passenger side. It has nice clean Rust free original wheels with original paint, including spare tire and jack. Windshield wipers operate properly and have good rubber blades. Small area on front of hood needs attention.
this car is currently registered in NY It is due for a State safety inspection. The best part is that it has solid rust free floor boards, trunk floor, and solid front fenders. the rubber bumpers good are in condition for their age. Brakes are spongy and I intend to have them checked. ( MG) brakes tend to get spongy when the car sits a long time. It will take a small amount of TLC to make this car stand out. It drive good , although these British cars do track slightly different from American cars. I'm sure it can be driven cross country without a problem. Car offers excellent gas mileage in the 35 mpg range.
This is a cute and desirable British classic car that will only gain in value over time. Repair parts as readily available at reasonable prices from several sources.
