Description
This is a very solid, original, running and driving 1953 MGTD that would be a great car to restore. I have too many projects and I need to clear out some space, so this one is up for sale.
BODY / FLOORS / FRAME: You will see in the pictures that the body, frame and undercarriage are extremely solid with only surface rust where the paint has flaked away. The paint appears to be completely original, with chips and scratches as you would expect for such an original old car. The body appears to never have had any damage or repair work. If you are looking for a great car to restore, this is the one.
MECHANICAL: The engine runs excellent, the clutch and brakes are good, and the transmission shifts through all the gears. The battery is good. The tires are old but don’t leak. To the best of my knowledge, the engine and gearbox are original.
INTERIOR / TOP: The convertible top and side curtains appear to be the original ones that came with the car. It only has the front side curtains and is missing the small rear ones. The interior was re-done several years ago by the previous owner and it is still nice.
ELECTRICAL: The lights and gauges are all working. This MGTD could be used and enjoyed as a driver with only minimal work and new tires. It is missing the wipers and wiper motor.
TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and licensed as a Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that you must complete various sales and title transfer forms with me, which can be done in person or through the mail.
DOCUMENTATION FEE: A flat fee of $100 is charged on all vehicle purchases to cover postage, preparing paperwork and forms, and other dealer costs. This fee cannot be waived. This fee applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer.
SALES TAX: If you live in Florida or are picking up the car in Florida I am required to collect the applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier I do not collect the sales tax (you will take care of that where you live.)
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $200 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. All cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder.
SHIPPING: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. We will always do our best to cooperate with your shipping company, be it domestic or international. We may also be able to help you arrange shipping, but the responsibility will remain with you.
THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS, WHERE-IS, WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. If you are unsure about bidding please come inspect the car in person or have it inspected by a reputable third-party inspection service. Please bid only if you are serious and are able to complete the purchase. If you are the winning bidder you will have entered into a binding contract to complete the purchase in accordance with eBay rules. The sale location is Bell, Florida, Florida law governs, and venue lies exclusively in Gilchrist County, Florida.
