Up for auction is a near showroom quality 1961 Nash Metropolitan Coupe fondly named Metilda. Metilda is fun to drive and brings a smile to everyone's face. Metilda is in excellent condition from her front end to her tail lights! Her attractive features include: NO RUST, flying lady hood ornament, fine front suspension, beautiful paint with pin stripe accents, a large trunk, and all original equipment. Her 1500 cc engine starts right up, runs perfectly and can get 30 MPG (or close to it). Feel those 53 HP kick in! All her gears work too. She has new exhaust, shocks, radiator, gas tank, and a new AM/FM/CD player with new speakers. Her upholstery and headliner is newer and in very good condition. She has been switched over to 12 volts and she sports a new alternator. Of course she has been kept indoors and would never be caught in the snow or rain. She has wide, white wall tires that have good tread, and new hub caps.
Like most other 50+ year old women, (oops, I meant automobiles) there are a few shortcomings. She leaks a little oil, the horn button has been moved below the dash, and the drivers side window must be pulled or pushed while cranking. I have tried to describe the issues the best I can. There may be some variability in our interpretation with any car of this age. I will let the pictures speak for Metilda's condition.
