Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a truly special car. This is a 1953 Allard J2X professionally built by Elite Industries. This is not a home built kit car. This is a factory built car with factory serial number #J2X-0029 and is incredibly rare. The stunning, high quality, extremely high-end PPG Ferrari red paint looks amazing and the entire car is almost mint. A popular swap in the 60's was to take the original 331 Cadilliac engine out and replace it with a small block Ford. This car has a bar'd 65 Ford 289 V8 that is in immaculate condition. The engine compartment is extremely clean and detailed and looks perfect. The 289 is backed by an automatic C4 transmission that shifts like butter and is incredibly smooth. The black leatherette is very comfortable and in excellent condition. The vintage, stock-style interior is just one more detail that adds to the period feel. The machine turned dash is immaculate and the vintage style gauges and instrumentation are perfect and really add to the overall build and it is all topped off by a classic banjo style steering wheel. The braking and suspension have been upgraded and provide a very confidence-inspiring and comfortable ride in todays modern traffic. The full square tube chassis is built to stock specs and better than the original. The beautiful body and paint are excentuated by the bear claw door latches and the grill was custom fabricated by Jay Leno's fabrication shop and is a one-off for only this car and all to stock specs. The wire Borrani style wheels really set the car off and give it a very classy stance and the wire wheels are sitting on brand new, matching tires all the way around including the spare. This car is perfectly proportioned to factory specs and the brookland style windscreens fold down if you want to get that classic wind in your face effect like the earliest racers. The undercarriage is extremely clean and as beautiful as the rest of the car. You can see and hear the racing heritage in this car. The trunk is also beautifully detailed and completely carpeted making it very functional and useable. No expense was spared and the attention to detail is second to none. The build quality just oozes out of this car and you can see that a lot of time, energy and money went into it from the very beginning. The entire car only has 580 miles on it and runs and drives like a dream. Its practically brand new.
