As a 40-year early Alpine aficionado, I can say that you will have to look a while to find one more original and well-preserved than this. I have owned it 5 years, put 3k miles on it, and hold receipts from four previous owners, including the original, an Air Force man in Wichita KS. I believe the 53000 miles showing are actual. Medical bills force sale. There are no receipts or evidence of major work performed such as an engine rebuild or body work. Numbers match (see photos). This is a low-option car: no radio antenna, no side-view mirrors, no overdrive. Tool kit and owners manual are missing. All gauges and lights work, engine doesn't smoke and holds good oil pressure. Brakes are good; new brake lines, clutch master cylinder rebuilt by Whitepost restorations with lifetime warranty. Non-synchro-first gear transmission shifts smoothly. Rear axle seals recently replaced. New Coker Classic bias-ply 6.50 x 13 wide white wall tires on wheels sand-blasted and painted last year. Heater blower works; original switch broken but replacement switch operational and hidden under dash. Complete stainless-steel exhaust installed and seams welded two years ago. Factory exhaust manifolds cleaned and sprayed with high-temperature enamel. Generator professionally rebuilt four years ago, as were carburetors. Soft top in fair shape, but top bow rubber seal is well-worn and falling apart. Original floor mats with snaps in good shape. Tonneau cover in good condition. Jack and engine crank in good condition. Has factory European front license mount. This is a solid, no rust car. Road rash on rockers just that--paint blemishes, no rust. Rust-through behind front wheel wells was repaired in 2011 using new metal and minimal filler. Magnet will stick anywhere on the car. Non-original items: dual-point distributor, after-market hooters (original ones included). Hardtop included but apart and missing plexiglass window. No photo; in storage. $500 deposit required within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance in cash or certified check when title is transferred. Buyer is responsible for transportation.
