Description:

Submitted for your consideration:
1949 Hudson Commodore 6 Sedan- -- -2-tone Brown/Gold (Driving Miss Daisy original colors)
Vehicle highly restored in 1987/1988 and seldom driven after that; All pertinent documentation to accompany this sale.
After having looked around at others that have sold or are currently for sale, I'll suggest this is a strong #3 car. This is an all original low mileage car exhibiting 31k miles that by all accounts is correct for this vintage. We sold another very highly restored '54 Hudson Jet for the estate of the same wonderful family. As you might anticipate they'd like to see this go to another discerning collector who will properly enjoy and display this car and will appreciate its qualities etc.
The car runs wonderfully- -- ---very very clean.
According to close sources, when the owner acquired this low mileage example years ago, it was so clean on the underside you could reportedly eat on it. It's been highly restored since. Paint quality is very high with a deep rich correct color to it. Interior is incredible with proper restoration of woodgrain.
Personal inspections and inquiries encouraged and accommodated.
No calls after 9pmCST please.

“I have yet to find a Hudson Commodore that has lower mileage or more solid/clean/original than this example. That said, despite a full restoration to this vehicle, there are minor items that can be improved upon to further enhance this car. Known issues include: Wipers are INOP (believed to be a minor fix); Front Floor Mat needs attention-----possible replacement. Has cracks/splits on backside; Exterior has minor chips/scratches on panels that require attention. As nice as it is, an overall refinish will make this near perfect in my view (i.e. Left Quarter has paint loss where fuel door touched quarter etc.). Driver's Frt Door Trim Panel Molding needs to be reaffixed (sticks out). Left Center Pillar welting is getting thin and should be replaced. Brakes pull slightly and need adjustment (not driven much by its elderly owner after restoration).”
