1954 Packard Clipper

Packard Clipper (1954)
for sale

Price: US $3,500.00

Description:

This beautiful old gal is a 1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe Speedster. She isn't a show car, but she could be a really nice driver with a bit of work. She's technically driveable now, but I wouldn't recommend it, because the brakes require a lot of pressure, and the lights don't work.
Condition:
- The body is pretty solid. There's some rust in the rear fender wells, and the body braces are rusted. The floor pan looks good as far as I can peel back the carpet.- It has a 20 foot paint job. Up close, you can see it was an amateur job.- It starts and runs. It idles smoothly, but it loses power quickly when you give it gas. It feels like a clogged carb jet or other fuel delivery issue.- The brakes require a lot of pressure to operate. This is likely a vacuum leak in the treadle vac.- The transmission pan needs a new gasket. If the car sits long enough for the torque converter to drain, it starts to leak.- Shifts smoothly- The original gas tank has been replaced by a fuel cell in the trunk.- The speedometer doesn't work- The odometer shows 74, 596, but I don't know how accurate that is since the speedo isn't working.- As you can see in the pictures, it has a custom continental kit. The rear bumper and tail lights are from a 56.
I only drove this car a few miles to get it home from the auction where I bought it, but I have to say it was a lot of fun. Plenty of honks and thumbs up. I'd like to keep it and drive it, but I just don't have enough time or room in my garage to do the work.
