This is the 1953 Inaugural District of Columbia License Plate with images of Eisenhower and Nixon. The license plate is used - shows some signs of wear and exposure to the elements but it is overall in good condition. Please, take a look at the photos to make your own judgment.
The plate needs to be cleaned - it has dust and some dirt lodged around the letters and numbers. The red enamel paint encircling Eisenhower"s image is somewhat worn. The images (decals or whatever they are) appear a little fuzzy around the edges - perhaps this is from wear/cleaning? There is a little dent in the plate at the bottom below the T. in DIST.
Overall - not bad; it can be cleaned and repainted if you want to improve on it but it does at the present stage have patina and character which lets you know that this was a license plate made to use, not a reproduction made to display.
