We bought this car to promote our kids' elementary school fundraiser which was at the House of Blues. We raised well over $250, 000 and had over 500 attendees. The St. Monica School in Dallas is glad we did. You can too! Are you on a mission from god? Need to raise money for an orphanage or an elementary school? “Fury for ’74 has been completely redesigned from front to rear, inside and out. Outside Fury has a crisp new hood, roof and rear deck profile. The increased glass area provides for excellent visibility. Fury’s new longer wheelbase . . . 122” on all models except wagons which have 124” wheelbase . . . makes for even greater roadability. When you tie this in with Fury’s Torsion-Quiet Ride you have the kind of performance that puts Fury in a class by itself. The 400-2Barrel-V8 on this Fury provides the power to match its racy good looks.
Fury models are extremely quiet cars. Unibody construction minimizes squeaks and rattles. And additional quiet car components such as softer suspension bushings, power plant bending dampers, laminated exhaust pipes and exhaust system resonators and improved sealing methods dampen out exterior road noise. Fury has a real luxury car feeling about it.
Fury designers included changes that make for easier serviceability. There’s a new modular instrument panel that permits removal of components from the passenger side without the necessity of removing the steering column. There’s more room too, under the hood so that mechanics can get at things quickly and easily. There’s a new two-piece door trim panel that provides easy access for window alignment adjustment.
All-in-all in the 1974 Plymouth Fury you’ll find there’s more Plymouth going for you in so many wonderful ways. Standard equipment, of course, includes TorqueFlite automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes and the Electronic Ignition System and much more. Drive one and learn for yourself the difference that extra care in engineering makes.” Per 1974 Plymouth sales brochure.
If you are looking for a ready-to-Rock & Roll “Bluesmobile” or a base Fury for a restoration project, this 1974 Plymouth beauty is the car for you.
Although the large speaker is just a mock-up (was Black but now is grey - that is why it shows black in some photos), the car has a fully functional siren/PA system (Federal Signal PA300 amplifier with two 100 watt speakers). The amplifier has been adapted with a standard 3.5mm headphone plug for use with most any MP3 player or mobile telephone that has a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is ready to play your road tunes for you and everyone around you as you drive down the road.
Although not perfect, the interior was refurbished at some point in its life and is in pretty good shape.
If a restoration project is what you are after, the body on this Fury is solid. There is very little surface rust throughout the body, but there is some pitting from where the vinyl top used to be. The rear quarters, trunk and rear deck are solid, unlike many others you will find out there. Many, and possibly all, of the window trim chrome pieces do come with the car but are currently not installed.

“Runs great after it warms up. Why buy a old junker and spend tons of money making it a blues mobile when this one is turn key running and ready to go. What it could use:-4 Tires-spare wheel and tire-some front end work-carburetor work (I would recommend replacing the manifold and carb at the same time and switching to a 4 barrel)-valve cover leak-front seatbelts to be run through the bench seat properly (everything is there though) What does not work:-AM/FM radio-air conditioning (it may just need to be evacuated and re-charged – the system looks good from the outside)-passenger rear door (did work but appears the linkage broke – easy fix)” |
