Description:

RM21 1968 Road runner post car-not a clone. I have a clean and clear Kansas title in my name. The splotchy/faded paint doesn't help it's looks and it does have some typical B body rust issues but this car looks nice compared to a lot of the northern/salt belt cars I have seen. From the factory, it was a big block 383 4 barrel car but the original engine and transmission/shifter are long gone. A previous owner made their own 4 speed hump to fit a Hurst Verti gate shifter (not included) so I'm assuming it was an automatic car from the factory. When I found it, it was a parts car already but it's really a fairly rare car that deserves to be restored. It has been painted several times over the years but originally it was AA1 silver metallic (see fender tag), which is a pretty rare and striking color on a roadrunner. The floor pans have patch panels that were welded in many years ago and are quite solid. They floor pans are not show worthy but they are sturdy/functional and would look great if stripped/painted. The torsion bar crossmember is solid on the driver's side and solid where both torsion bars mount but the T bar cross member is rusted out on the passenger side where the crossmember meets the right front subframe. Fortunately, this car did NOT have a vinyl top so the roof skin, windshield/rear window channels, and the rear window corners are solid. The rear frame rails are quite solid except the last 6-12 inches, which is rusted out (typical b body rust area). Trunk floor has some holes but is better then most for its age. Quarter panels and extensions were removed so it will need at least lower skins. Left front frame rail is cracked just behind the shock tower (see picture) but could be welded up/patched. The previous owner used the whole rearend assembly in his 1969 Charger so the slant 6 charger rearend ended up under this car. The side glass is all good. The rear glass is scratched/scraped but not cracked/broken. It has rust behind the hood hinges. Front VIN plate and dash are unmolested and bolted in place. The dash looks to be complete except for the radio. All the lighting switches and heat/AC controls are present. It's not pictured, but I have the steering column as well and it's included. The speedo cluster is resting in the dash. The right rear wheel is a friend's who lent it to me to roll the car. I have a steel wheel that will replace this wheel. I can help load the car on on your flat bed trailer. It's pretty easy. I'll lift the front with a cherry picker and we can use my come along to winch the car onto the flatbed by hooking onto the rear axle. This is a project for sure and I have been honest about everything I have seen. If you live close I encourage you to stop by and have a look in person. AA1 silver metallic roadrunners are not very common and that color looks super sharp. If you have questions you can call/text me at 3one6-2five0-eight4nine8. $100 non refundable deposit due within 48 hours of winning bid. Car must be picked up within 14 days of auction's end Thanks for looking.
