UPDATE: We just had this serviced by ProTech Automotive to get a clean bill of health for the vehicle. During a recent test drive, potential customer was afraid it was running hot. We used to think the same, but was told they appear to run hotter by design and we know it does not overheat. As we are selling this, we want to have peace of mind for the next owner we are not hiding anything. It is confirmed that the temp gauge is not working accurately. It's going to read higher than it actually is. We have documentation to confirm this. The vehicle is mechanically sound. Apparently you have to get a new instrument cluster to change the temp gauge. Not worth the expense according to our mechanic. This SUV is LOADED with just about every option available. 2-tone leather seating (all power) that's in pretty nice shape. Power everything including moonroof, heads up display, lot's of cool Aztek stuff (cooler for center console, power supply in rear (with air compressor...stuff like that). MOST still work. We are posting this with FULL DISCLOSURE on what we know is wrong. What's wrong with us? We are honest. Not many people around who will disclose all they know. We bought this thinking it had minor issues, but found out the guy who sold it to us hid the expensive issues. You will not be in this position as we had those issues (and others) fixed. The expensive issues are done. Now, it's minor things that need fixed. The drivers window needs a regulator and needs replaced (the AC is really cold, so have no fear you'll be hot). I've been rolling down the rear window at drive through's finding out that works fine for me. The power steering pump will also need replaced. It has a leak and squeals at times. Supposed to be an easy fix (had a quote for around $300 from our mechanic). We just had a lot of work done you won't have to worry about. We were afraid we had a bad head gasket, so we had it checked out by our mechanic (Auto Tech...who we highly recommend). There was an exhaust leak which caused coolant to leak, so we had them replace a bunch of hoses and gaskets, put in a new water pump, spark plugs and wires...preventive maintenance stuff as well as the culprit that was leaking in the first place. When we bought this vehicle, we simply thought we would have to put in the power steering pump. Now we fixed this other expensive stuff, we don't have enough money to fix the little things. Basically, we just dumped over $1, 400 into this and you can be assured the work was done right and there are no longer any coolant leaks... just the power steering and window. You don't have to fix the power steering pump right away. It leaks fluid and you'll have to keep filling it until you replace it. Mileage is reasonable at around 175, 000. According to our mechanic, the engine is very reliable and should run for a long time.
Kelly Blue Book for Buying from a private party: AVERAGE is $2, 714, FAIR is $2, 452.
We priced this to sell quickly and expect it to not last long. Azteks have a weird following for those who own them. Check out reviews on this SUV. They are VERY high! It was ahead of it's time. It was the first Crossover SUV to hit the market.
Clean title in hand. Cash Only!
This will be a great SUV for someone. You won't be disappointed.

“Nice condition for it's age. No visible rust. Looks and runs great! Has power steering pump leak (works, but it is noisier than it should be while turning) and will need replaced at some point. Drivers power window not working. Don't know if it's a motor or switch. Temp gauge is not accurate. Was just checked by mechanic (have all paperwork) to assure vehicle doesn't run hot (gauge reads higher than normal running temp...but it's simply a malfunctioning gauge.)All sensors, computer working properly. We just put another $100.00 in this to give peace of mind to new owner. See full description below.” |
