Exterior:
House of Kolor Pearl Indigo Blue. Absolutely stunning paint with 6 coats of clear. The paint looks anywhere from dark purple to bright blue depending where you stand looking at the car. One of the comments we get often is that it is the most amazing paint people have ever seen. This bird is straight as an arrow with zero rust and absolutely no bondo. All of the original chrome was redone to show quality. The door mouldings, mirrors and weather stripping was replaced as well. The pictures speak to the quality of the restoration.
Rims and Tires:
Brand new rubber wraps all black American Racing rims. 16x7 in front and 16x8 in the rear.
Interior:
The center console was modified to accommodate a manual transmission and then painted to match the exterior of the car. The carbon fiber gauge cluster was custom built for the car and adds a really cool modern look while still maintaining the muscle car feel. The radio/heat control bezel was also painted to match the exterior of the car, and then a Classic Sounds Zuma radio was added. But this only scratches the surface. The interior was completely replaced with brand new seat covers and carpet. Sound deadener was added when the carpet went in. All of the vents and vent bezels were replaced as well as the headliner, sale panels, rearview mirror and custom package tray. A custom rear deck was made with custom speaker mounts and new speakers. It adds a very cool look to the interior. Lastly, every single interior screw, as well as any exterior screws, were removed and replaced with the correct size stainless steel screws. I'm sure I'm forgetting something so I'll just say this. EVERY single interior or exterior piece on this car was either redone or replaced. It is perfect.
Engine:
The Pontiac 400 was replaced with a 455. The engine has 211 miles on it. The restoration has the mileage of the car. When we restored it we had played with the idea of keeping the original engine but decided since the car was more of a resto-mod, then why not keep going. The 400's never had the horsepower and torque that this car deserves. Now it does!!! Pumping out about 400hp with 500 foot pounds of torque while being paired to a Saginaw 4-speed gives this car all you will ever need. Since the transmission and engine were new we decided to also install a new Proven Force clutch and an all aluminum big block radiator with electric fans. We then converted the brakes in the front to disc brakes with a proportioning valve. The only thing left to do is replace the brake booster and reservoir.( I have a new chrome and polished aluminum one that comes with the car but is not installed)
I see a lot of cheap or half done restorations on ebay, this IS NOT one of them. This is in every respect a show car. We have had two appraisals done on the car. One of them came in at $45, 000.00 and the other at $47, 000.00. Bothe rated the car at a #1-2. It's very difficult to even get into the number 1 category and this car made it. The body off restoration alone was $16, 000.00 with over $42, 000.00 invested in the complete restoration of the car. I won't promise you that you can get this car for a fraction of the cost or that I have a super low reserve. You'll walk into it with positive equity on a car that continues to climb in value every year. It's quite an investment. In 2 1/2 years when it hits the 50 year anniversary it is widely known that prices for these cars will go through the roof. If it doesn't sell for reserve we will keep it until that. So, serious bidders only as we don't need the money and we will not compromise on what we need to get out of it.
