1970 Pontiac GTO

Pontiac GTO (1970)
for sale

Price: US $15,000.00

Description:

This Beautiful GTO has always been garaged and well taken care of. Originally built in Fremont California, most of the miles were racked up in the first four years of ownership. Since 1989, this car has been driven only to shows. There is still a chalk mark on the firewall placed there by a worker when the car was on the assembly line. When I had the top replaced, I had the back window removed and the sills replaced where GM A bodies tend to leak. Included in the sale is the OEM distributor, coil and new Ram Air conversion components, new posi tag, left door opening actuator, door sails, windshield washer pump. the stainless steel windshield, rear window and drip edges have been re-polished. New wheel opening moldings have been installed. The engine currently in the car has a Competitions cam 280H. I had the car checked on a Chassis dyno and it recorded 298 rear wheel horsepower. I have misplaced the dyno sheet but I am still looking for it. The engine idles very well and has a nice sounding subtle lope to it.
I have been collecting and restoring GTO's for years and have decided to take on other hobbies. With the sale of this car, many new and used parts will go with the car such as, factory service manuals, restoration parts catalogs, the original closed hood scoops, AC delco oil filters, new steering rod, tie rod ends and idler, ball joints, new hood tach, factory floor mats, hood insulation, 8-track tape player, complete set of interior fasteners, window rollers, guides and car cover. I had the transmission rebuilt before the conversion and a new pressure plate and disc was installed onto the re-ground flywheel. The Hurst shifter came from a GTO Judge and the Hurst rebuild program rebuilt it. The original number matching is on a wheel stand and I will strap it to a pallet and prep for shipping. I was told it is in good condition and it is well protected with shrink wrap. It was replaced by the previous owner only because a newly rebuilt 400 was given to him.
I have been honest and have described the car as accurately as possible although I am getting older and sometimes my memory is not as sharp as it used to be. I am anxious to answer any questions and I will take pictures of any particular area if requested. This car is sold as is and there is no warranty. shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer and I will meet with the shipper at any time. The engine is at my shop and I can load it on to a truck for shipping.

“72,000 original miles, 400-4sp. this GTO is very original with some restoration and upgrades installed. New top, exhaust system, electronic ignition, 4 speed conversion, sport mirrors, Eaton positraction, Koni shocks, rear wing, ram air conversion, door and window rubber insulation. this car has no rust and has never been damaged, doors, hood and trunk all fit and work well. The interior is original and only the headliner has been replaced. The engine is a 1969 400 and has approximately 2000 miles since complete rebuild. The numbers matching engine is in very good condition and is included in the sale. this GTO is in very good condition but is not perfect. The radio may need work or the speaker wiring is faulty. A repaint in 1989 is still in very good condition but there are some minor cracks where the bumper meets the hood. The dash has a crack in it, a tach fuse is needed and the accelerator pump could use replacement.”
