Pontiac Le Mans Hardtop (1970)
for sale

Price: US $14,000.00

Description:

'70 Lemans freshly repainted completely solid rust and bondo free body. I have a photo album of the body work and painting process. Also, if the winning bidder wishes, I have an electronic filler finder you are welcome to go over the car with. The car has new bumpers and all the stainless and chrome trim are in excellent condition. The interior is mostly new; the front seats were re-upholstered, and the original rear seat was re-dyed black. The dash pad and front door panels are new. The original interior color was saddle. All new wind lace and weather stripping all around. The doors shut like a new car and do not rattle.
The car currently has a 455 engine and a 350 trans; this is not the original engine that came in the car from the factory. The engine is stock with exception to an Edelbrock intake manifold and Carb and and HEI distributor. I was told by the guy who built the car, and who I bought it from, that the engine is a 1970 engine and has around 75, 000 original miles on it. The rear end is a posi 10 bolt BOP, that was recently overhauled and has 3.30:1 ring and pinion gears. The rear end may need to be re-shimmed, as there is a little howl at highway speeds. The car runs great and cruises nice on the highway. If I were going to keep it, I would probably do a basic overhaul of the engine or atleast a valve job, since the heads are the original heads and are designed to run on leaded gas. The only things mechanically that need to be addressed, are that the rear main seal is developing a small leak and the speedo gear input needs a new o-ring because it is leaking a little. Other than that the car is very nice and a good starting point for someone to make an even nicer car out of. I was planning to do a GTO clone and detail the engine bay to look factory new. Eventually, i was going to stroke the engine but make it appear to be a factory 455 HO. The drag radials on the car in the picture are no longer on the car. In their place are a nice set of radial tires. If you want to buy a nearly new set of M/T ET Streets I have a set mounted on Weld Draglights I would sell for an additional $450. Also, with the car goes extra body color paint, and the vinyl top trim pieces.
I'm selling the car because I have lost interest and am currently living overseas. So, the car is sitting in a climate controlled storage facility in Chattanooga, Tn, costing me $250 every month to store and insure it. I'm not in a hurry to sell it, but I figured I would put it out there and see if it sells. I highly suggest that if you are interested you come and look at the car yourself and make your own assessments. I've described the car as it is and honestly, but you should still inspect it yourself before bidding or committing to buy it. However the car is as nice in person as the pictures,
If you would like to arrange to see the car in person, weekends are preferred since my brother Matt who would be showing the car on my behalf works Mon-Fri from 0730 to 5pm. His number is 423-284-5892 please call after the aforementioned hour of work to arrange to look at the car.
If you have questions I can answer about the car, that I have not already covered, message me and I'll try to answer. If you want to see the photo album I mentioned it is in the car, so go look at the car in person and you are welcome to look through them. Lastly, if you can not afford the car and do not already have a way to definitley pay for it, then please do not bid or make an offer. I will not waste your time so please do not waste mine or my brothers who was nice enough to show the car for me.
The car is for sell locally, so I reserve the right to end the bay listing at anytime.
Pick-up and shipping of the car is the responsibility of the buyer. Of course we will assist your shipper or you with pick-up since the car is in a secure storage facility.
