A SIDE BY SIDE COMPARE IS MY DESCCRIPTON: LIKE THE JUNK IN THE IMAGE NEXT TO THE CAR, THE CAR IS NOT THE TRUE DEFINITION OF PERFECTION BUT IT SURE IS NICE AND ANYONE WOULD PROUDLY DRIVE HER GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR! GET IT BOYS!
$1000 deposit balance due within 30 days. I can finish within that 30 days for you at no charge but I likely need that long to do the 4 days work, because I am now a worthless, sorry ass, broke back, dookie hole, crippled shadow of my former self due to an accident causing TBI and SCI. THIS IS WHY U GET THE CHANCE TO GET FAT BY PICKING THE BONES OF MY ONCE PRIME CUT CORPSE! LIVE FAST & DIE YOUNG THIS IS A KILLER DEAL!
Forced Sale by newly disabled owner. I will be adding pictures. I still need to install grilles, and color matched front
bumpers and align glass before install of the new interrior. This car was purchased and built over a period of more than 4 years as a shop
owner. Over 23K spent on parts and specialty drive train services before any actual LABOR to produce a nice driving car.
Car was professionally rebuilt mechanically from ground up without consideration of cost to achieve my final goals. Goals were, to keep all American, outrun all American Made Sports Cars and be reliable for daily driving and ready to drive 5000 miles without concern while achieving 17-18MPG on highway, and regardless of how I drive, last at least 100, 000 miles with improved handling and no concern of twisting the car in two! This is asking a lot, but it was done, and proven at least in part. Here is how.
I contracted a Pontiac Guru that was a Machinist for Pontiac in 1969 to build the engine and lend opinion to gearing and total mechanical build planning. I contracted a Dayton, OH, GM Gear Head with a transmission shop and had the tranny and rear differential built and he subcontracted the suspension, brakes and a mutitude of other mechanicals to make this car what you can say is BRAND NEW mechanically.
Engine is 467 stroker with dyno sheets, machine rebalanced with Kieth Black and eagle rotating assembly. 670 Heads were ported, Valves enlarged and
lengthened for theaufull roller rockers to complement the full hydraulic roller lifter camshaft. No this car does not idle poorly, lumpety, lump, lump, for what some call showing off. I wanted the engine to appear and sound as close to stock as possible so I could li7k., , h..hgggtterally snatch pink slips from those who underestimate what a CAST IRON PONTIAC 400 can do! In summary there is over 10K in this CAST IRON PONTIAC ENGINE! I figured if it lasted nearly 50 years why change perfection other than as recommended to meet my goals with the help of a TRUE ERA PONTIAC GURU with a shop right by DELCO MORAINE as stamped on so many GM parts!
These Specialist performance guys did not let me down and exceeded my true expectations and opened my eyes wide! It was stated if I can get enough tire to HOOK-UP, this car will break the 10 second quarter mile! I think that is a REAL AND TRUE PONTIAC GURU statement and thought I'd share my opinion on HIS statement at final engine delivery in the Dyno TEST Room. Dyno Results with my fuel goals in place produced 498HP and 568Ft Lbs and climbing steady down to 4K RPM dyno test cut off. A SHOW OFF DYNO was done using the GURU's simple 4BBL Single Plane Higher Rise Fuel System and the engine did like 540HP and produced 610Ft lb.
here is an Edelbrock 750CFM on a RPM Enduroshine intake, fuled by an RPM Polished Fuel Pump with all new fuel lines to the Stainless tank. The NEW Gas
cap fits but the gas slams the cap hard enough to cause it to leak on launching so I suggest taking a minute to address the GAS CAP seal issue before
you get down on it but I believe if someone tossed a match on this fuel leak trail from a launch the car could outrun the flame!
There are billet pulleys, 140 amp chrome alternator, a polished aluminum RARE High Flow water pump, a remote Oil Filter System allowing use of RARE Ceramic Coated Long Branch Factory appearance headers connecting the RARE 2.5 Aluminized X-Pipe Dual Exhaust System with SpinTech Mufflers.
Front Spindles Replaced w Ceramic Powder Coated, new bearings all around, new shocks all around, new Brake Booster Master Cylinder and proportioning valve, front cross drilled and slotted rotors compliment the disk brakes and new rear drums, including all new hardware, new brake lines and braided brake hoses.
All new belts, hoses, radiator and thermostat, New Billet HEI Distributor, Performance Wires by MSD and plugs as recommended by the Pontiac GURU which are common and like if not, factory plugs.
I am sure I have missed a few things but will continue by adding the tranny is a full manual shift TH350 with stage 2 shift kit and 1800 stall. Not sure of make of
the limited slip but went with the GEAR HEAD's recommendations, 3.55:1 Gears.
YEAH MAN, ROCK & ROLL with this 1969 TRANS-AM inspired FULL DRIVE TRAIN MEETS MODERN DAY PERFORMANCE PACKAGE!
With all of that MUSCLE we had to Get it ALL together or Twist & Shout and to do this we turned to Hotchkis to provide Frame Ties Welded in
and bolted up at the rails, bolted in at the A-frame and thus still allowing full A-FRAME removal like stock. The new body bushings, new 4 leaf spring and helpers springs allow the 15 Rims and larger than stock Tires to be used without rubbing in the corners with additional handling help by use of the Hotchis Chasis Max System, Hotchis Sway Bars and Xbrace!
Again I know I misses some goodies but will conclude the build up by pointing out Dakota Digital replaces the factory guages, Bondo and rust removed and replaced with real metal, and a new full interior package is being installed now.
In my 100 miles of road testing before any appearnace work I discovered 3 things. 1) Gas Cap, 2)The 6000RPMs the engine is capable of will over spin the power steering pump and cause it to spit out fluid. Plan was rev limiter but you can do what you want, 3) the break booster fitting appears to not be to par and I'd replace that fitting. Last since I've done 100 miles on this new engine after first break-in oil change, I'd consider springing for changing oil again and adjust timing having broke in the new chain to get it right on once again as delivered after DYNO TESTING.
If you need me to sevice a few things as suggested I'd be happy to do so for costs and a tip. Assume 2-3 hours and all parts and or supplies with disposals.
Oh, I almost forgot that I color matched the bumpers and integrated the rear to keep all those folks that confuse the 1969 Firebird 400 Option Package with a 1970 GTO Guessing! I preferred the 400 Mid Hood Scoop to the Trans-AM Front Scoop and this does well at adding to the conversation. The one thing I didn't want was just another WEAK POWERED replica of a MEAN MUSCLE MACHINE. This car is not a TRAILER QUEEN that is going to break down at the yearly show! It
turns lots of heads and will open wide the eyes of the NEXT BIG ENGINE CROTCH ROCKET that tries to pass you fogetting to look before he comes over in
your lane!
ENJOY MY TOY! Circumstances force this sale and I am disappointed that it will be my high bidder and not be me behind my wheel! If you like my appearance customizing I suggest a wet sand to the protective clear coat applied and 2-3 additional coats of clear. I can also do this for you for $300 to keep the car looking nice for a LONG TIME and I would have done this if it had been possible but that is going to require pain management! This is a good thing, because you would not be bidding on it now, lest my sorry ass injured state!
