Description:

I bought this car over a year ago with the intention of restoring it.., which is what I have been doing little by little throughout this last year; I have had the brakes replaced, all the bearings, rebuilt the calipers, new fuel line, replace the clutch, a host of little things, all described in the paper work receipts that I have photographed and included in this listing. There is a link below to photo bucket with all the photos, since eBay only has room for 12. I am moving to Asia in 2 months. Before I owned it there was a rebuild, 15k miles ago. Currently the odometer states 127, 884k. Carfax has reported odometer inconsistencies… The speedometer wasn‘t working when I bought it. I have looked at the paper work for the rebuild and the odometer reading was the same in 2006 as it is now. No way of knowing exact mileage---the previous owner said that he hadn’t driven it more than 15k since the rebuild, but I have no way of verifying that… We attached a new sensor at the transmission and tried to analyze the issue without resolving the cause and concluded that the speedometer needs replacing. The brain has been replaced and have included the receipt for that in the photos. There are various receipts photographed and include in this listing, so have a look. The total in receipts for recent work is over $16, 500. The good about this car is the mechanical work that has been completed and the original state of everything, the interior, the body paint, etc. The paint is original. There are 2 new tires as well. No curbing on the rims. I had my mechanic look at everything and we have fixed all the mechanical issues that were necessary. I want to take this car to the next level, but out of time now. I think that what is left are the aesthetics and a few functional issues. The rims are all I have…which I understand are upgrades at the factory , and I have included that paper work from the Porsche factory that I looked up online and included in the listing too! There are many upgrades from the factory on this model, as stated in this same paper work, so have a look I would say that this car has a ways to go to be perfect, but is acceptable in its present state. The good is that the leather of the seats, while comfortably worn in, aren’t torn and beat up. The dash is good as well, with a little rust corrosion noticeable on the screws for the trim---a minor detail; the carpets are worn in typical areas: The list of issues are as follows: The passenger window doesn’t work; the bright headlight level doesn’t work and is stuck on bright; the radio only comes through one speaker; the Driver’s door doesn’t lock and won’t turn with the key; one of the rubber bumpers in the rear has damage, and the light case is missing on the other; the dome light doesn’t work; the horn doesn’t work; The trunk hydraulics don’t hold the lid up anymore; the cable for the heater system is slightly stiff, but heat works; a/c doesn’t seem to work; the top goes back and for okay, but has a hard time catching on the drivers side, and even though I have started the process, removing the motor and welding a part, it malfunctioned again and appears that the motor will have to be replace. The headlight that was in the passenger side headlight was the wrong one, too strong: The way I found that out is when I was driving it at night and the light started smoking because it got to hot! I replaced the bulb and that corrected the issue. The casing is warped slightly now, but with electrical tape I got it to stay. There is a bit of clear coat wear on the front left fender and one small crease there too; a few dings in the door area, small and insignificant. The underside looks good, but a small hole in the front, probably from hitting something, as shown in the photos of the underside that I took while on the rack. Those photos were when the clutch was being replace. This car was sitting, covered, for a few years with the previous Owner, whom, in my opinion, didn’t fully understand what car he had… The story is that a Friend of his owed him a lot of money and died, then the wife called and said she didn’t have the money to pay him back, but that he could have the car. He took the car, drove it, and decided that it needed a rebuild, and spent 8, 800 on that… A few months later he had the brain rebuilt. Then the brakes started to act up and he parked it and stopped driving it. He was moving out of State and sold it to me out of his back yard, and I drove it straight to the Mechanic for repairs. I have included those receipts in this listing. I am striving to impart a true and honest assessment of this car, anything that I have left out, please inquire, but my effort was to describe everything that I know of wrong with the car, and what I believe is right about it.
