Offered for sale is an absolutely gorgeous, extremely well documented, heavily optioned final year example of the air-cooled 993 Porsche 911 Carrera. Sporting only 30k original miles, this three-owner car (the second of which was between 1999 and 2014) is finished in gorgeous Ocean Blue Metallic over Classic Grey leather interior with a nearly new black soft top. Only 1, 201 Cabriolets were produced for the US market in 1998 and many Porschephiles consider the final year of the 993 to be the pinnacle of the 911.
Delivered new by Frank Lynch Imports in Chicago, IL, the car was traded in and sold a year later to its second owner, a successful real estate broker who retired to California in 2008, bringing the car with him. Throughout his fifteen years of ownership, the car was treated as a veritable garage queen, driven sparingly and religiously serviced by his local Porsche dealership. A thick stack of service receipts documents the level of care, however the car never received – nor did it require – any significant repairs, rather merely a fanatical amount of basic service. Whenever anything needed doing, it was done correctly, and by the dealer.
When collectors and enthusiasts look for top tier 993’s there’s a list of requirements that seem to be ubiquitous: very low miles, excellent aesthetic condition, a six-speed manual transmission, comprehensive service records indicating proper maintenance and, lastly, a tasteful color combination. A long time client of ours, the current owner had the same requirements when he started combing the market a couple of years ago. A painstakingly picky, decades-long enthusiast from Carmel, he searched for the right example for the better part of a year, finally landing on this car, which he purchased from the second owner in San Luis Obispo, CA. During his ownership (as he does with all of his cars) he continued to provide exceptional care and pride-of-ownership so that when one day it was time to move on he could rest assured that the next owner would be equally pleased. The acquisition of another Porsche has necessitated that that day has come and we’re consequently offering the car on consignment.
Benefitting from the exceptional care of its previous owners, the car is in excellent cosmetic condition. The beautiful Ocean Blue Metallic paint is marred only by the most minor of imperfections (a few rock chips and the like), none of which are significant enough to really appear in any of the pictures. The rubber and glass are in excellent condition and the 18” Porsche Technology Turbo Twist wheels are perfect (no curb rash, discoloration, etc.), wrapped in nearly new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The car’s interior is equally pristine. The leather seats show truly only minimal wear commensurate with any well-cared-for 30k mile car, the dash is flawless and the carpets and interior panels are excellent. For a 993, the car is heavily optioned, including heated front seats, limited slip and Porsche Hi-Fi premium sound, color wheel crests, on board computer, six disc CD changer and a wind deflector.
Always serviced fastidiously by authorized Porsche dealer technicians, the car has a full file of all of its service history, as well as the original books, manuals, keys, car cover and completely clean CARFAX report. The car is factory stock and mechanically fantastic, providing perfect compression, even power, smooth shifting and the 911’s legendary handling. The 30k service was completed at 29, 454 miles in April of 2014 and the car is entirely turn-key, ready for its next doting owner.

For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction’s end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction’s end.
