Porsche Boxster (2005)
for sale
Price: US $28,000.00
Price: US $28,000.00
This is a second generation Boxster with
third generation engine (2.7L, 240 BHP) which I bought new on 10/28/2005. Beyond all standard options it has the
Preferred Package (heated seats, self-dimming mirrors, sound package plus, rain
sensor, floor mats, wheel caps with
colored crest), Automatic Climate
Control, Aluminum Roll Bar, Chrome exhaust pipes. I have all related sales literature, owner
manual in a leather folio, and the original window sticker showing all standard
and optional equipment as well as the price - $48, 000. I also have a Porsche
Certificate of Authenticity signed by CEO of Porsche Cars of North America, Inc. I have all service records (all time phase service like the oil change, brake fluid change and even spark plugs were changed). It has a new battery. The car was stored every winter in a heated garage under the
soft flannel cover. Sta-bil was added to
gasoline, the car was started every 4-6 weeks and driven around our driveway (to lubricate transmission, differential and to avoid flat spots on tires). As matter of fact, the car is in the garage for
about 5-6 months every year since I take off my car insurance in late fall. It was driven only once in the rain, first
year in order to check if there is any leak and if rain sensitive wipers
work. The car was driven only on
weekends and in nice dry weather for a few hours at the time. The rest of the week it was stored in the
garage. So it has seen only very limited
hours of the sun. This car was always gently
driven. Most of the time top was up (due
to my wife’s allergies). This is a non-smoker car
which still even smells like a new car (no kidding).
As matter of the fact the car was washed only 12 times! I always personally washed the car and in a
very special way (?) in order to avoid any potential micro abrasions due to washing
off particles of the dust. Every fall, all the rubber seals were wiped off with the silicone lubricant in order to keep
them playable.
There are no any parking dings or any scratch or scuff anywhere on the car. Well, there are few minor scratches on the
bottom edge of front spoiler when it rubbed against the end stop concrete curb
on the parking lot. However it is just a
plastic spoiler and the scratches can be seen only if one kneels and put the
head closse to the ground. The wheel rims
are without any blemish. Interior is
also in absolute pristine condition with no any sign of wear. There are no any scuffs on the door
sills. Carpets are like new; I always
used a small rug over the original carpet mat.
When I retired I thought that getting a Porsche
convertible would be a great retirement toy. But, my primary reasons for buying this great car (this is the only one
Porsche car in production designed from scratch as an convertible and much nicer than BMW or Mercedes convertible) was to one
day pass it to my son with super low mileage and in an absolute pristine
condition. The other mid-engine convertibles are exotic Italian super cars costing $200k. However, recently my son does not
show any interest in getting (and keeping) this car! Furthermore, beyond having severe allergies, my wife complains, more and more, that the car is too low, too stiff and too
loud (of course she is comparing it to our Audi A8 car). So, with a real mixed feeling I am selling
it.
I am selling it for $28, 000. I feel it is the right price for my car
considering the mileage, how the car was used and cared for. Also, since the new like this car costs about $56, 000, my car appears to be a real
great buy.
$500 is payable immediately via PayPal, the rest via
personal check. The title transfer and
picking up the car after the check clears my bank. Cashier's check is OK if my bank can make a call to the bank which issued it to confirm the validity of the check. If necessary, due to snow/salt on the road I
can keep the car in my garage up to 1 month.
P.S. The last picture shows custom modified jacks, with welded a pin on the top of the jack pad which fits the car hoist supports. On the end of the jack rod there is a 1/4 hex bit which fits in the drill for fast and easy hoisting the car. These jacks are handy for raising rear end of the car w/o the need for jack stands; very handy for oil and oil filter change. Note the rubber around the pins, I did not want to induce any undercoating damage even around the car hoist supports! Of course, the jacks go with the car.
