1979 Assembled on the Michigan title, this convertible looks like a real Mercedes convertible from the 1920's. It was manufactured in detailed precision, body parts separate and it shows very well !! It has an extremely heavy ply fiberglass body, a custom frame, Pinto running gear and will not flap in the wind like the newer, lighter fiberglass, one mold version that I had a recent ride in, does! The vinyl bucket seats and interior carpet have been restored/replaced, stainless side exhaust pipes replaced the flash coated ones! It has Model T side mirrors, Mercedes symbol plates everywhere, an antique railroad clock, Tucker of Tennessee wide whitewall tires, newer brakes, timing belt, springs, shocks, etc.!! Hagerty Insurance Company's appraised, guaranteed replacement value, is $10, 000.00!!!Always a very smooth and dependable touring auto, this car was driven daily for many summers, on road trips to Canada, Southern and Eastern U.S. and, of course, all over Michigan, until I received two terminal medical diagnoses and suffered several disabilities (but survived, so far). She has never broke down, never been towed and has never had any accidents!! This car was a conversation starter for many, many years; most of the 36 years I have owned her!! She has won many awards, over the years, at car shows, particularly at the Carnival of Cars, in Utica, Michigan!!! She's been a star at Woodward Dream Cruise too!!However, recent rodent activity has damaged the electrical system and you'll see that the humidity (while in storage during my long illnesses) has caused some re-chroming issues! But, if you give her some love, she'll serve you well !!! Price: $8, 000.00 O.B.O.
